How Do You Enjoy Multi-Trips

Post by rphillips14 » May Sat 12, 2012 8:15 am

We are getting ready to go to the World for the 4th time. Let me just say, we love it but I am concerned somewhat because we now know it so well it's not "new" to us. I would appreciate hearing how you multi-trippers make each trip new and fresh? :D

There is so much to do! But since you have been before, maybe there is no need to "run" to every ride and attraction. I have been to Disney in the 100's+visits, and each time is so exciting! Here are some thoughts: :D
... Take a lot of time discovering Main Street. Most people just walk through but there is so much to see and do! The Fire station, the Barber Shop, the China Shop! And check out all the Main Street Windows... look for Walts! (PS it's at the end of the street right side facing Cinderella Castle!)
... Find some hideaways and other paths to take instead of the main ones, they are prettier and less crowded!
... Really get into the each of the Countries in EPCOT. We always make a challenge like you have to eat something in every country (we share and take bites!), or drink around the country (LOL this needs no explanation!), or purchase a souvenir in every country for a display when you get home! (Keep the challenge to a $5 item, it's fun!)
... Take and afternoon or evening to ride the monorail and eat and drink in each of the three resorts on the monorail!
... Take a tour! We have done almost all of them and some twice. Spend a little bit such as the Behind the Seed Tour in the Land in EPCOT ($14). Or my top three tours are Keys to the Kingdom in Magic Kingdom ($74) , Undiscovered Future World in EPCOT ($55) or SEGWAY around the World in EPCOT ($99).
...Take a million pictures!!!

Hope these ideas helped, I could go every day!!!!

Has it been long between your trips? Our last two trips were back to back years but nothing felt too hum-drum to us. Probably because it had been 10 years since our last trip before that. We didn't see everything in 2010, but that was ok because we knew we had a trip planned for 2011. I think there is always something new to see when you go. You can try a new restaurant, shop in a store you've never shopped in before, take a tour that interests you, watch a parade from a different angle, take time to experience a stage show you've never watched before.

There's usually something new to see every time I go down there. I like to visit different resorts when I go. 20 years ago we stayed at Port Orleans for a spring break trip. I haven't been back over there since. I'm going in January and I plan on making my way over there to see the place. January will be my 11th time and first since 2010. I can't wait! Fantasyland should be about done, Test Track will be new, Tutto Italia will be new to me.... There will be a ton of things that will be new to me! I may not like them all they will add to the experience!

Remember what Walt said," Walt Disney World wil never be complete." or it was something like that, lol. There will alwas be something new to see or do on every trip. Try a new place to eat, see a show you've never seen. Take tours. Resort hop. I have literally been over 100 times now and always find new stuff to do!

Like everyone else has said... try something new! There's SO much to do at WDW. This will be my 10th time going in July and I'm making a list of stuff I've never done before. Although, there's really no way I'd ever get tired of WDW!

I visit every single off day I have. At least 200 day visits and then 8 vacations. We like to resort hop when we visit. My mom loves seeing the other resorts and trying out the food, so we pick one and go for lunch or dinner and just explore. I introduced my mom to Caribbean Beach on their last trip and she loved it- she'd never been before.

As everyone has said, change it up. The great thing about WDW is that there is so much to do you really can go every year and see new things. This June will mark 5 years in a row and I am not worried at all about this occurring. Of course some of the attractions you go on the most will become familiar, but there are still others that stay fresh no matter how many times you go on them.

Some things I would recommend have already been suggested, but I'll give my reasoning:
- The World Showcase. Take your time going around EPCOT and really enjoy the attention to detail in each country. You can really get so much more out of EPCOT if you slow down and take it all in.
- Downtown Disney: Some of the best shopping in WDW is here. The WoD store (although it used to be better) is still the best place place to shop for disney merchandise. If crowds are an issue, just enter shortly before closing and take your time. Disney will never throw you out of a store. In fact the shifts are worked out to allow for guests to shop around following closing time.
- Main Street USA: Walk slowly and take it all in. People are usually in too much of a rush to either get on attractions or leave the park to really enjoy this. Read ALL of the windows. The names you see are legends.
- Find new attractions: I know it may sound corny, but I am sure you haven't done EVERY attraction and show that Disney has to offer. I know I still haven't! Take note of what you still haven't done and set out a plan to conquer those things.
- Characters: One thing we got hooked into last year was catching as many character meet and greets as possible. I'm not just talking about Mickey Mouse at Town Square or the EPCOT Character Spot, but rather those characters who are listed with certain times on the schedule. Try and see if you can catch all of those in each park... I'm almost certain you haven't and will not in one vacation.
- Just be free: Wander around the parks and let the "magic" take you wherever. The worst thing you can do while in Disney World (even if you are an expert) is worry about where to be at every moment.

Ditto, Len. I never appreciated WS as much until my first CP. It's wonderful to wander about back there. The CMs to me are the friendliest of anywhere on property and so much fun to talk to, and the merchandise/food is a nice change from Mickey being stamped on everything. The shows such as China, France, etc. are so underappreciated and the various street performers and bands are also worth watching.

You know, I didn't know how to answer this question. I never get bored with WDW, even after many trips.

Perhaps the one way we change things up is that we've tried to experience different events at Disney that we've never done before. Last trip, we went for Star Wars Weekend. Next trip, we'll see the Osborne Festival of Lights (and go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party) for the first time ever.

We've also done a few spontaneous things: One trip we arrived after 10:30 am on a very crowded MK day. Lines were long, and FP return times were terrible. We knew we wouldn't get to ride much, so we decided to play a live version of the Magic Kingdom game, which is a family board game we have at home. To win the game, you have to visit at least one attraction in every land, and that's what we did: TTA (Tomorrowland), Hall of Presidents (Liberty Square), Splash Mountain (Frontierland - our one FP), Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse (Adventureland), Mickey and Minnie's House (Toontown) and the Carousel (Fantasyland). Plus, we rode the Monorail and the Railroad for extra credit. It was a strange day but a fun and memorable one.

I think the World only gets boring if you approach it the same way every time, every trip. As long as you continue to find the magic in yourself, you'll keep finding magic in the parks.

I live here and it's not yet to ever be boring. I guess it's just nice to find ways to shake it up and also new things to do that aren't as familiar or popular.

We've done three trips in the past four years, just got back from one and cannot wait to go back! I don't know if you have done the new Sorcerer's Apprentice game at Magic Kingdom but that was cool and different for my son. He wanted to go back and do it again. We try different rides too that we didn't do the previous trip. Maybe stay at a different resort that gives you different options too. We've always done Value but this time we did Port Orleans and there were so many things to do at the resort alone that were not done at our Value resorts that was different for us this time around.

Thank you all so much for the great response. I may has misrepresented my question as I too have never been "bored" at Disneyworld but I just wanted an idea as to how everyone "keeps it fresh" and boy did you all really help.

since I first wrote this, we have now purchased tickets to go to the two water parks and Disneyquest. We have never attended any water park or Disneyquest so that has really added a new tenor to this trip. I'm also excited about the Sorcerer's Apprentice game as we have never played that either.

Thanks again.

I am confident that you will absolutely LOVE the waterparks. Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are not just fun water parks, they are truly visual masterpieces. I've never been to DisneyQuest myself, but my brother, sister-in-law, and niece have and I think they really like it.
