Re: Soarin' closed indefinitely
See, it would never occur to me to mess with the seat belt or jump off the ride.

That's why the site is called Stupid Guest Tricks. Ordinary intelligent guests don't try these kinds of stunts.

I do love that site.... and as a CM, I have to try to be respectful of the guests, but it is just so gosh darn hard!!momeja wrote:That's why the site is called Stupid Guest Tricks. Ordinary intelligent guests don't try these kinds of stunts.

It's sad how some people can't just go to Disney and have a great time. They aren't capable of realizing how they ruin things for those of us who truly love going there. Hopefully the people who did this go on some sort of "no pass through" the front gate.

Ok, I went on Soarin yesterday and I did not notice a difference. The seat belts are the same and the film is still grainy and specks still move around constantly... So, I don't know what the closure was for. Maybe they just wanted time to educate the staff on possible scenarios?? They did take extra time to make sure all belts were fastened, but other than that it was the same.

Maybe that is all they did for now ~ reinforce how important it is to check that the seat belts are fastened properly...NaCler wrote:Ok, I went on Soarin yesterday and I did not notice a difference. Haven't had the pleasure of going on this ride yet!! Too long a wait!!

You need to get a fastpass and go do other things until your time comes around. Soarin is one of most people's favourite rides and once you ride it you will know why.brerrabbit1 wrote:Haven't had the pleasure of going on this ride yet!! Too long a wait!!

I wholeheartedly agree with Sleepy90. You should try to get a fastpass for Soarin' next time so you can try it out. I think you will like itSleepy90 wrote:You need to get a fastpass and go do other things until your time comes around. Re: Soarin' closed indefinitely
So I never posted my observations from when I was down in June. I tried probing into why this closure happened and CMs claimed it was to work on their positioning and to ensure cast safety during the loading and unloading process. They immediately denied the rumors of people being on the ground while the ride went up. I did notice the increased load times and more stern safety check. The CM would point to each guest while walking to show they are checking your seat belt. It used to be a quick row by row or even going by the indicators on the top of the gliders.
I did also feel that the seat belt/lap bar enforcement was more strict this past trip than in previous years.

Re: Soarin' closed indefinitely
Interesting. I did feel that the last time we were there (before the incident) they were a little lax on the safety belt checks. It looked like they checked the indicators, and briefly glanced down the rows. Good to know they are making sure everyone is securely fastened in their seat. It could be very dangerous if someone fell.Len90 wrote:So I never posted my observations from when I was down in June.
