American Adventure Scene 1939

I have no recollection of that scene at all!?! I guess I will have to do the AA next time I go back to WDW! We are talking about the one in EPCOT in the American pavillion, correct?

Yep, it's possible the scene was down when you saw it as well. The show can bypass sections I think.

Can it really? That's pretty neat if it can! I suppose it would make sense since it is all different show components on the track below...wouldn't that mess up the audio though?

They usually segment out AA's and their sections (well they do it for all the shows), so they may jump from the previous scene to the next (as in just have one not trigger). The transition might not be as smooth as original, but it also means they don't have to s*itcan the entire show for a small problem.

Huh, didn't know they could do that? I've been in a couple shows that they just stopped and booted us all out of a few times. Wish they could have skipped to the next segment with them!

One of my favorite scenes I the AA as well...aren't they listening to the radio broadcast of the bombing of Pearl Harbor? Always gives me chills

That is really cool. I just thought it was a scene they created to give the point of view of everyday Americans. I had no idea it was based on an actual photograph.

I think it's a broadcast of FDR but I think it's an excerpt of his inaugural address (i.e. the "Nothing to fear but fear itself" speech...which most people think incorrectly is about WWII but it was actually about the economy/Depression).

They then segway into a scene with Will Rogers who makes a comment about the navy trimming down despite the world edging closer to war and then it goes back to an FDR voice re Pearl Harbor ("A date which will live in infamy" speech) which leads into the Rosie the Riveter scene where she's working on the boat.

ok, I know this is a stupid question but where is the American Adventure Scene? I haven't seen it yet. I guess where ever this is, we missed it!! I'd like to see it!!

It's in the America in EPCOT, middle of the countries. Go into the building and the shows runs every 30 minutes. It's a show with Audio-Animatronics, music, movies, live reels, and pictures. It's far and above the best 30 minutes in EPCOT. Patriotism at it's best!

If I recall, it's the great depression scene after the Columbia Exposition scene and before the WWII scene.I think it is tied to the Roy Rogers figure (the cowboy that is hosting the radio show and uses a lasso).

thanks cousininmiami!!!! I haven't been that pavillion yet,we did a quick run through of Epcot last time we were there and we're definately going to spend more time in epcot on our next trip!! I didn't get to see all that I wanted to see!!!
