Get frozen in carbonite for $100 at Star Wars Weekends! Happens at Sounds Dangerous.
Guess you get to be scanned and turned into a little action figure. Sounds neat to me

It's probably like that router your brother(?) has, quick 3D scan of the front (since that is the only part that is seen when it's in the block) and they only have to carve a partial figure.

Probably so. And you've got a good memory, yes, my Cali brother has a CNC router...but it's like pulling teeth to get him to make me anything

Probably not since 3D printers take a lot longer, I've used them for a personal project and it takes forever and requires a good amount of cleanup on the piece.
