Re: New Monorail voice
The ease of change may depend on the system they purchased, prior to this change, when was the last time they modified the recordings? If it's really infrequent it may be a sign that it's not as easy to change on the fly.

Re: New Monorail voice
Hmm I think they used to update the spiel every year or so to keep it to date with the current celebration.Wizzard419 wrote:The ease of change may depend on the system they purchased, prior to this change, when was the last time they modified the recordings? Speaking of, I don't think they have updated the DLR tram audio since 2001 or so, many of the workers shut it off after the saftey message.
Re: New Monorail voice
They used to change them all the time. Before the change, they were still talking about celebrating anything at Walt Disney World and the "celebrate you" celebration has been over for a long while now.Wizzard419 wrote:The ease of change may depend on the system they purchased, prior to this change, when was the last time they modified the recordings? Re: New Monorail voice
True. I believe the spiel talked about it right around the GF on the resort monorail. However, they(Disney) have been trying to maintain the celebration stuff also. If you book a reservation the person on the phone will always ask you for any celebrations. Secondly they have kept the celebrating buttons around despite that being a thing of the past.MadEye wrote:They used to change them all the time. Actually, I would guess it is a small expense that pretty much always puts a smile on someone's face. Who doesn't like to be wished a happy birthday, anniversary, etc?!

No one that I know of.. and besides, like I wrote in another thread sometimes you can get special things when you wear the special buttons.

Re: New Monorail voice
I always hate when they change something at Disney that I really like. I only hope that I eventually like whatever is new so that I don't miss the old too much. Change can be good but not always. It's too bad the original man has passed on so that he can't update the spiel himself.

Re: New Monorail voice
Well, at least I'm glad they kept the spiel that plays when the doors closeses where Jack Wagner says, "Please stand clear of the doors. Por favor manténganse alejado de las puertas." But, they should have kept the previous narrator instead of hiring a new one. In all honesty, I think the new voice is almost as good as the previous one, bu he only thing i dont like about it is how it sounds like a monotonous voice. however, the new narrator, in my opinion, does sound like he has a golden voice. and when I say he has a golden voice, i mean that the person sounds like his voice is a voice you love hearing.
Re: New Monorail voice
This narration does sound terrible, no life in the voice, it's just too flat. That's disappointing.

Re: New Monorail voice
No. I am just SO many levels of not okay with this. The voice of the Monorail is supposed to be a VOICE, not a flat, lifeless drone. I'm sad

Re: New Monorail voice
That will probably never change for the Mark VI as the door closing is generated by a separate system than the rest of the spiel.disney radio man wrote:Well, at least I'm glad they kept the spiel that plays when the doors closeses where Jack Wagner says, "Please stand clear of the doors.
