Yeah, I'm pretty sure there would have been more promotion of the Tron concept if that was to be included in the refurb...

Looks like it's the same track, different insides and theming. Even the cars look the same, with a different skin to be less like a Pontiac Fiero and more like a modern car.

after those futuristic scene vignettes displayed in the latest pictures, i would say they stole the last section of WoM and the original ending to SSE as references to re-do the track scenery... (i really could see how someone could look at it and say TRON!)

I think it's the storm section and lots of contour lights that make one think "tron". Then again, they may be trying to get GM to sponsor the next movie since they did ask for a script a while back.

Same difference. They used to use it on the rocket rods but only on a few of the cars and you really couldn't see it working since most of the track was away from guest areas.

Just watched a point of view video for Radiator Springs Racers in DCA and it has me wondering if one of the effects there will be used for Test Track. It looks like there is a point in RSR where a digital (it looks like a digital one anyhow) curtain pulls back to show you and the car you are riding in. I wonder if that could be how they are planning to use the guest designed cars. They could overlay the guests' design on the actual Test Track car...
