It would be interesting to say the least. Maybe make them out of leaves. One thing I always say is that the WDI workers should have mickey ears on there hard hats.

Cool as it would be to have have mickey ears on hard hats, talk about a pain. I have mine here for when I get sent out for field work and to toss ears on it would be, well, interesting. But with scotchlite tape on the ears they really won't be able to miss you!

Disney must find another place for the hat. It really doesn't fit with the old Hollywood that never was atmosphere as you enter MGM. Also, are they trying to make the hat the official symbol of MGM? That would be tragic because I've always loved the Earful Tower! Anyhow, there must be another place to put that hat.

Sorry I should have said for special occasions, like the opening of the rides. I can see how the ears would get in the way. When I dawn my hard hat I keep thinking I wish it was smaller so I could look into smaller places.

Sorry to say I don't think its going anywhere. It's been there since the 100th celebration. Looks like we are stuck with it.

What is it actually there for? It doesn't do anything but serve as a pin trading station and...uh...a new alternative backdrop to the Chinese theater. It seems that someone thought of an idea to build a giant hat, and some bozo gave it the ok, so Dinsey built a giant hat in the middle of the park! (I really hate that hat and could rant for hours about it it) But seriously, it serves no purpose but to be huge and in the way.

I thought that the Hat is just the new icon for the Studios. I mean, we cast members do refer to it as the "Icon." I don't really mind it, although it does attract a lot of popcorn spills for some odd reason.

I thought of the Fansasmic angle too. It fits with the Sorcerer Mickey theme. I would be sure that it was set back though, mabye even incorporated itno the seating area.

As for the Epcot hand, I'd rather see it removed all together. It seemed like a waste to write Epcot up there.

Sorry for being so harsh for people that like the hat  . it's just that it'sright in the middle of everything. It fits in with sorcerer mickey for fantasmic, but that's about it. It has nothing to do with the movies. If they found a better spot to put it, I might change my mind, but where the heck are they gonna move that thing?! It's huge!. Hey...maybe it could go to All Star movies or something...?

Cheshire Cat, you read my mind! I was just thinking that they should move the hat to the All Star resorts while I was supposed to be doing homework this afternoon. It would fit in so well there! Ah well, wishful thinking.

I only wish, actually I'm in the railroad industry... Walt and I share this thing about trains :D

How about the back lot? There has to be a place for it somewhere - All Star would be good too. And I can't imagine it is filled with concrete so moving it, while a pain, wouldn't be totally impossible. Not sure what it is made of but can you imagine some huge transport helicopter lifting it up and flying it to a new location? Come on, be creative guys!

I have a funny feeling the hat is there to stay. It's not a bad thing, just not in a great place! I also agree that Disney is using the hat as an icon for the Disney Studios. The hat is used to represent Disney Studios on all of the park merchandise so that’s a sure sign it’s not going anywhere!

I just don't understand why they chose a mickey's sorcerer hat. Yeah, it was for the 100 years of magic celebration, but I don't think they really needed to build a gigantic hat (of all things) right in front of the Chinese Theater (and destroy the largest hidden mickey on top of that). They could have built something just as good, but temporary. If they could change Cinderella Castle into a birthday cake for a year, they should have been able to come up with something creative (but temporary) for the studios. I have a theory, that there was supposed to be more to it, but they never/haven't got around to it (yet). Or maybe I'm just crazy! Or maybe I'm crazy for thinking they're carzy for building a gigantic hat in the middle of the park.

(Ok, that's my rant on THE HAT for today  )
