This would be a great idea as well!cy1229 wrote:I think a discussion about the evolution of PotC, with the movies based on the ride, and then the ride being based on the movies again, would be cool. Also, how the DLR and WDW versions differ. Yo ho!

That does sound interesting. You could do one on the different Haunted Mansions around the world too ~ contrast and compare....mills10 wrote:This would be a great idea as well!cy1229 wrote:I think a discussion about the evolution of PotC, with the movies based on the ride, and then the ride being based on the movies again, would be cool. Thanks everyone for these great ideas! The idea with the Haunted Mansion is really intriguing. It is slightly out of scope as my website is dedicated to WDW, but I think the comparison could be a key topic in that article as the original was in DL. We'll see where that goes, but HM will probably be one of those that is a little further down the pipeline depending on how many people are actually interested and hear about these articles! Don't want to waste a great ride when it could be enjoyed by many more if word spreads!

You will probably have archives too right? Then you don't have to worry too much about in which order you are presenting the attractions. Maybe you might want to tackle one land at a time, like Tomorrowland attractions, or Adventureland or Main Street?lonepalm wrote:Thanks everyone for these great ideas! Re: WDW history of rides and attractions articles
I will definitely have an archive. In fact, maybe I will start with one of the more loved rides, hoping that everyone will recommend to their friends! For the time being, I would like to do one ride at a time, as opposed to one land at a time, but I did want to start at one ride in a land and follow with the rest in the next articles from the same land!

Im with Amy. Im really excited about this idea. The more I read this thread and see people's suggestions the more excited I get to read your article! Can't wait!
Re: WDW history of rides and attractions articles
Thanks! I can't wait to get started! I hope it ends up meeting everyone's expectations! As with all things that are brand new, there will be some things that need a touch up, re-do, etc, and that is why I am hoping everyone will put on their constructive critic glasses and suggest some enhancements for future articles, but that is a discussion I can start after the first article! I hope I don't let anyone down!!!
Re: WDW history of rides and attractions articles
Hello everyone! I'd like to let you know that I have "completed" the first issue of the series. Due to the amount of time it was taking to research the Haunted Mansion, I had to choose an attraction with a little less history and change. I wanted to get the first issue out there so I can get some feedback, whether you like the premise or not, whether you like the layout or not, etc. Please also let me know if you would continue reading the series, at least for now to see how it progresses. I really enjoyed doing this hope you enjoy reading! Please leave comments on the article on the forum at my site (you need to register), that way I can track them better. Also, feel free to give you own opinions on the attraction in that same forum thread!
Issue 1 is about the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. Chances are, if this series continues, that the next one will be on another attraction in Tomorrowland. Please visit my site,http://www.interactiveWDW.com, to find the article! It is right on the homepage in the featured story section (the top area that has a "slideshow" of the most recent postings). Thanks everyone! I hope you read it, enjoy it, and provide some great discussion and comments in MY FORUM section (please not here and clog up this thread)! Thanks!

Re: WDW history of rides and attractions articles
only thing, and maybe it is just my IE. the info for the pictures seems to blend in with the ride audio transcript... maybe making the picture info a 'hover over' thing, or changing your schema of the transcript to a different color/font size?
other than that nitpick, GREAT JOB!
