Original Universe of Energy Movie Audio

Post by SpookyBear » Mar Wed 08, 2006 6:57 pm

I was wondering if the audio from the original Universe of Energy movie would ever show up here. I'm not talking about the preshow video before you went into the theatre but the movie that played after when you were actually in the theatre.

Thanks! :D

That would be a great track to find. I'll keep my eye out for it.

Also, ride audio from the attraction!

Is there any fairly wasy way to rip audio from a video? If so i may be able to get the ride audio. I'd have to double check old hoe vdoes, but I'm pretty sure I have the ride on there.
Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle until the ride comes to a full and complete stop. Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your day here at Walt Disney World.

What kind of video, tape, DVD, AVI, WMV, etc? You have several options.

If your video is on the computer (or if you can somehow hook your TV up to the mic port for it), one recorder that Quickgold told me about is All Sound Recorder XP. The program is free to try (you can get a small 2 minute clip in) or 29.95 to buy. If they do any updates (which they do frequently), you can just request a new registration code and they give it free, no buying again. I use this program when ripping from DVDs (like the vacation planner dvd tracks). One thing you want to be careful of, it's true to it's name. It records ALL sounds that happen on your computer while recording. So, if you are recording, close anything that makes noise.

The video is on an old 8mm camcorder tape, i'd need to plug it into my computer via an video capture card. I have the card, but so far i've olny used it as a tivo for live tv signals, haven't done any video editing.

I you have a mac, there's always audio Hijack pro.
The free demo is up to 10 minutes of recording.

If you just want the audio, that's fairly easy.
Get an adaptor for the outputs of your VCR to the input of your sound card.
There's an open source audio editor called "Audacity" which allows you to record and edit files.

Simply, start recording on Audacity and then hit play on the VCR. Once it's done, clip off the ends with no audio. You can then save to .wav or .mp3

Wow, it's been a little while since I checked back here (don't worry I'm still listening though!) Thanks for considering it!

That's awesome that you actually have an old video from the attraction jrcohen. I would love to see it again. Maybe it will show up here more quickly than I thought.
