Yes Soarin would be better training.the heat but remember the race is run in January which is their winter.
I thought Joe had been running for years. Good for him that he has done so much then!
I guess January does bring some colder weather to Florida. If you can run in their August heat and humidity, you can probably run in anything

Wrong.
If you can run in
heels you can run in anything.
Ditto to that one!!!!

It ain't fun but it's doable!!!

I've done it! Remember, I was a teacher for 8 years. I have this big Garfield poster that says "You can't scare me, I teach."

Alright...DW wants to run in the 2013 Wine & Dine Half Marathon. Hopefully we'll have the money by then and enough time to get in shape.
That is going to be early November...and I think far enough away to try and make it a Mayhem Marauder Meet-up.

How about the 2012 Wine & Dine Half? That would still give you more than 8 months to get ready for it. Registration opens mid March. Keep it in mind.

DS is supposed to be born on 4/20...so we'll need a little bit of time to get adjusted to life with a baby...then working on saving up and getting into shape. Plus...all of the new Fantasyland should be done by then...with the kinks worked out.

That's a good goal to shoot for! Do you suppose DS will be in a running stroller or hanging out with Grandparents?

Yeah...DW's step-dad will be back from Afghanistan...so we could take advantage of military discounts and rates...or we have my parents who have an RCI Timeshare we could use for a big villa.
I wish Disney would let folks run with strollers...but I can also see how you wouldn't want kids and babies on the course with thousands of runners out there.

Oh ~ I didn't realize taking the kiddos was not an option

I can see them not wanting kids and babies in with all the regular runners, but I bet they would have quite a few takers if they had a stroller wave!

We'd prefer to wait until a kid is 3-4 years old...but I think the biggest hurdle will just be potty training. Once we get our son out of diapers...going to WDW will be much easier.
Of course...he's not even born yet...but us WDW nuts have to have these things planned ahead of time...right?
