Royal Guest Rooms

Post by disneylizzy » Feb Sat 18, 2012 11:39 am

Anyone else read about these in the Mickey Monitor that came out recently?

I think they look pretty awesome & would love to stay in one of those royal rooms. It would make you feel like you're inside of the fairy tale.

It looks like they will be available beginning in March at Port Orleans Riverside

They do look pretty nice - but a bit expensive. And too much room for just our party of two! Great option for bigger families though :D

Those rooms look pretty awesome, I must say! But, if I'm going to upgrade, it will be at a deluxe! 8-)

I was thinking the same thing - that the price (starting at $189 for the Port Orleans rooms) would be the same as if upgrading to deluxe, so might as well go deluxe.

I don't think the Port Orleans rooms are going to be bigger than they are currently, think about it - they'd have to reduce the current capacity. But maybe they appear bigger b/c of the new furnishings.

Wow, those are BEAUTIFUL. I now have added something new to my WDW "must-do" list...
"They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway..."

The only two places I will ever need to be are Manhattan and Disney World.

Makes me wish they would "plus" some of the deluxe rooms with extra theming as well so there would be an option at the deluxe.

I wonder if those will be used as "free upgrades" at times when capacity isn't as high. I know DW and I got moved to a room on the river when we stayed at POR for our honeymoon. We got the better view and everything without paying the higher price.

I was wondering why they don't do this to any Deluxe resorts?! Is Disney trying to drum up more business for the Moderates?! Or maybe the room prices for the Deluxes would be even worse than they are now with theming?

One of my friends is staying in one of these now. They got upgraded last night. She said it's gorgeous! And yes their upgrade was free.

Could you see if they would snap a few photos to share with us?

How cool that your friend is in one now!! You'll have to tell her we're all jealous.

I second what Amy says, pictures please!!

I agree that the rooms look incredibly nice. Given the premium, I think they are something I may upgrade for a night or two on a longer stay at Dixie Landings. This way you could get the expereince of the Royal rooms, but not the price tag for an entire trip. [That and Alligator Bayou is just so cool!]

I would definitely want to try and stay at one of these rooms - but again would probably only try for a night or two if I couldn't get a free upgrade. We barely spend anytime in our room except when we are sleeping - so it is hard to spend that kind of money just for the room difference. If we wanted to spend more money - we would go for a more expensive resort. But still - it is tough to NOT want to spend a night sleeping like a princess!!!
