That is what I mean, companies that are domestic to the country noted, the US/WDC aren't paying to bring the countries here.

So that would explain why countries that are less affluent and developed are underrepresented at the WS.Wizzard419 wrote:That is what I mean, companies that are domestic to the country noted, the US/WDC aren't paying to bring the countries here.
I know AK is primarily African in nature, especially when you include the AKL and the restaurants there - but I do wish the WS was more diverse.

Possibly, but it also may have simply been that these were the only countries that were interested in expanding tourisim from the US in the 80's. I'm trying to think if any of the pavillions have had a new attraction put in rather than simply modifying their existing one.

When I was on Dinosaur, it felt like Indiana Jones to me.

Yup, I believe Wizzard mentioned it already, but both attractions use the same ride vehicles...Indy just seems much cooler with all the fireelizabethswann wrote:When I was on Dinosaur, it felt like Indiana Jones to me.

Hey, the World Showcase is darn good considering that it hasn't gotten as much support from the nations represented as we would like. So if we are to change/expand the Showcase, its up to Disney to pony up some of the money and find different ways of attracting the other nations. I am pretty sure there are countries out there willing to cooperate (Financially decaying Greece and rising star Brazil being the better examples), its just a matter of effort from the homefront.
As for Matterhorn, we have a slight version of that on WDW, which is Everest. The Indiana Jones ride however should be in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom as opposed to Hollywood Studios. My opinion.

I'm sure Greece would love to be represented, but they definitely have any money to be putting toward a pavilion. Even if Disney were to put up the lion's share of a pavilion or attraction, Greece would never be able to put up a substantial amount...and if they did, the people of Greece might cry foul for them putting money toward something in a foreign country and neglecting their own needsDIAC1987 wrote:Hey, the World Showcase is darn good considering that it hasn't gotten as much support from the nations represented as we would like. Re: Matterhorn and Indiana Jones?
I would like to see India, Thailand, Indonesia and/or Australia added to the World Showcase. Not sure about Indonesia, but seems like the other three countries could financially contribute to the project.
Indiana Jones ride would be great at DHS, but only if they took the Indiana Jones show out. Having both would be redundant. Having one at one park and another at another park would be confusing. IMHO Disney made a big blunder when they made the focus of then-MGM and now-DHS be shows rather than ride-like attractions. I've sat through the stunt car show two times now, and have no intention of ever sitting through it again. Unless things change a lot, there's no reason for me to spend a lot of time at DHS unless I can go back and forth between ToT and RnR, with some TSMM thrown in for yuks. I'll try to do the backlot tour this year as I haven't done that one, but probably will skip the GMR. The point is that planning much time at DHS has become unnecessary for our family - 2 or 3 hours max - unless they change it up a bit, or we manage to make it on a Star Wars weekend.

Re: Matterhorn and Indiana Jones?
I was just mentioning to my best friend that I'd love to see an Australian pavilion around.

Re: Matterhorn and Indiana Jones?
Neither have I but if you search online for track layouts for Dinosaur and Indy, they are the same.dstrawn9889 wrote:i only said it that way because i, personally, have never ridden the indiana jones ride...(East Coast!)

It is one of the beauties of the system. They can take the exact same track and ride car, do a different set, paintjob, car programing, etc. and it's a whole new ride. I do wonder if the total length of the line for the two rides (three if you count Japan) are the same or if one is a lot longer? The one at DLR feels a lot longer but most of it is not bound up in various rooms.

Re: Matterhorn and Indiana Jones?
You're right, the one in DL does feel longer! I like when you are able to see so much of the attraction when you are going over the bridge too ~ I would guess if the layout is the same, the ride time is very similar though, unlike the Pirates of the Caribbean where WDW is about 1/2 the length of DLWizzard419 wrote:It is one of the beauties of the system.
