All righty then, back to Day 4.
So, NaCler and I had the parks to ourselves until 3 am! Whoo-hoo!
NaCler told me he knew a shortcut so I let him lead the way. Just a word of warning, his idea of a shortcut was to walk the entire circumference of the park

But it gave us a chance to catch up and talk while we got a little extra exercise. We stopped at the Frontierland Shooting Gallery. I had never tried that before so that was something new for me. I think it would have been more fun with real ammo instead of lasers. It was sort of hard to tell if you actually hit anything or not, but I'm sure we both had about 100% accuracy

Next stop was an entertaining cruise through Jungle Country.
Our next attraction decision turned out to be a fateful one. We headed toward Splash Mountain. All went relatively smoothly until we rounded the bend after splash down. There we ended up in limbo as the attraction shut down.
Maybe we should have listened to the Buzzards?!
Everything started to go all wonky...
We heard the standard stay seated in your log spiels, then we saw some CMs walking, well, actually running through the attraction. One of the announcements said the CMs would be running through checking on things and I jokingly made the comment, "We were promised running, they had better be hauling!" To my surprise, they really were running when they went by our log
Then the lights came on. We started hearing more announcements over a PA type system. A few logs were released down the drop. After about 45 minutes we got the word that we would be evacuated off the attraction.
The reason for the breakdown? NaCler broke it!
Ok, the "real" reason the attraction was shut down was because some water got on a sensor and shut the ride down. We all thought that was a bit amusing that water on a sensor would shut down a water ride

Although, I suppose it makes sense because that means water is somewhere that it shouldn't be I suppose. I took a photo of the CM as she went around and explained the situation to everyone and her first words were, "Is this going on Youtube?!"

Nope. Only a photo I assured her. Sadly the video from that night did not transfer from my camera to the computer so the whole evacuation that I carefully taped ~ no longer exists either
We did. not. break. down. the. attraction ~ well, I didn't break it anyhow!
As they were helping everyone out of the logs, the CMs made a big deal out of walking carefully, and being sure not to fall in the water as it would mean an automatic tetnus shot. Which leads me to wonder why it is ok when you are riding and get water splashed on you and more than likely in your eyes and mouth as well. Hmmmmm

Anyhow, as we were walking out a lady about 4 or 5 people ahead of us slipped and managed to get her foot in the water. I'm not sure how she managed as the walkway was at least 3-4 feet wide. I didn't see it happen but the lady's companions were making quite a fuss. She quickly said she was ok when the CM checked on her. A little later she started complaining about her back hurting. Management was checking on her welfare as we exited the ride. We got golden fp (good for a whole week! And NaCler gave me his pass since he was leaving in the morning) for the inconvenience, but we had to get moving. While the whole thing certainly was an experience ~ we had lost almost an hour of our precious EMH!! I do wonder what they did with the one log of guests. They were right before the entrance to the big room with the Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah Lady steamboat and were about 4 or 5 feet away from the sidewalk.
SPOILER ALERT: Backstage Splash Mountain...
Whatever happened, it probably shut down the attraction for the rest of the evening because all the work lights were still on when we passed it after riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Next up was the Haunted Mansion where we played a bit in the new queue.
Just like my piano-playing at home
Winnie the Pooh's germy queue was next.
We spun on the tea cups where NaCler did a very nice job spinning. But I think Len probably spins much faster. We then took a different sort of spin on the TTA.
And then Space Mountain where the young man in front of me was asking me all sorts of questions and told me it was his first time on the attraction, but I think the ride photo indicates he might have been having fun with me. He looks a lot like my nephew so he sucked me right in
Then it was on to Buzz Lightyear where I opened my big mouth and said I could beat NaCler. He then took it upon himself to whoop my butt 304,100 to 203,000. Sigh...But it wasn't for lack of trying as evidenced by the looks of concentration here...
Snow White and Peter Pan were next.
Dumbo was next ~ where I found out NaCler is deathly afraid of heights ~ and elephants
NaCler very kindly let me choose the last attraction of the evening. I picked It's a Small World

He was singly merrily along with the soundtrack before we even entered the first room, but for some reason wasn't too keen on my showing that sheer pleasure, so I won't post any photos of him throughly enjoying all the singing dollies!
By the time we ended our happiest cruise that ever sailed, it was after 3 and the park was now closed
We took some photos of the castle and almost empty Main Street.
Poor Cinderella had to leave the ball at midnight. We exited her castle shortly after 3 am
I was impressed that they still took the time to do street art even though there weren't many guests left in the park
We exited the park at 3:24 where we each had a bus from our respective resorts waiting.
I was sad to say goodbye to my friend NaCler, but I knew I will see him again in the future. In fact, I think I will go ahead and practice my laser shooting so I can challenge him to a rematch on Buzz! Not sure how that is going to work since he spends every other weekend at WDW now
