That crowd shot is what I call "visual hyperbole." It wasn't really at WDW... just some random crowd shot I found to illustrate a point. I think I made the point pretty well, eh?
Of course, the first one of the castle really is mine, and the third one of the tour group wasn't mine but really is at MK.

Ugh...can't stand the BTGs!!!
They make you wonder how they could possibly have a functional society at home...based on the manners or lack thereof of the Brazilians who occupy WDW every winter.

It's so crazy, because one of my very best friends on the planet is Brazilian. He was my coworker on my first CP and is pretty much the older brother I never had, and he doesn't act a THING like those people. Most of the Brazilian CMs don't either- heard a story about how one Brazilian CM at MK called several of the BTG members "a**holes" and apologised to guests for their rude behaviour and her manager literally applauded her.theBIGyowski wrote:Ugh...can't stand the BTGs!!!

Yeah, I already love the aviator outfit thanks to the goggles...plus it's really cute in person. But thanks to this pic, I also am crushing on the pirate and sorcerer outfits.cy1229 wrote:I LOVE the pirate costume! Sure does make bear-who-must-not-be-named look awful durn cute!

The goggles on the aviator outfit are so cute! Not that I'm inclined to buy a Duffy, but I can still comment.

To be fair, most of the BTG consist of teenagers. Sort of the same thing as when the cheerleaders and football players descend on WDW. I think the Brazilians are just a more boisterous people in general though. I'm not a fan of the huge groups, but a few years ago F1gment and I had the opportunity to talk to a smaller group of about 4 or 5 girls. One was very keen to practice her English and they really were quite lovely young adults.theBIGyowski wrote:Ugh...can't stand the BTGs!!!

They get super obnoxious in groups, because as individuals, most of them are very friendly and very talkative! I rather miss my Brazilian coworker that I mentioned a couple posts above, especially the kiss he always gave me for hello and goodbye.Amy wrote:To be fair, most of the BTG consist of teenagers. I thought something about those Duffy outfits seemed so familiar! I wonder if they designed Duffy intentionally for the intent of recycling old merchandise lines?dstrawn9889 wrote:they are recycling the 'pal mickey' patterns, huh? i have the pirate and the sorcerer costumes for my son's Pal Mickey

Hey, they probably figured if they could make money off Duffy, what the heck. Anything for a few extra $$$ !mindflipper wrote:I thought something about those Duffy outfits seemed so familiar! Not the same for the Cheerleaders, yes they go around in groups but on the whole are not noisy and rowdy. All the cheerleading groups I have encountered are very pleasant and polite girls and quite happy to chat to old codgers like me about their upcoming competition.Amy wrote:To be fair, most of the BTG consist of teenagers. However at the same time we also have huge groups of Argentinians now these guys are loud, but come on they are teenagers and they are in the Happiest place on earth, I can live with that.

I had a good friend in high school who was from Brazil...with a voice like butter...but I know what you mean.Soarin08 wrote:They get super obnoxious in groups, because as individuals, most of them are very friendly and very talkative! The junior high and high school cheerleaders are worse than the Brazilians.... the college cheerleaders, nah. They're at least mature enough to know not to act like fools at a theme park.Sleepy90 wrote:Not the same for the Cheerleaders, yes they go around in groups but on the whole are not noisy and rowdy. Re: Mayhem Marauders Meet-up Part Deux!
NOTE: I was having some techinal difficulties, so the last of the pictures didn't make it on this part of the update. I will add them later...
Day 2:
We took our time getting ready this morning since we had a late night and knew that we had no real plans, so we got ourselves ready and decided to explore our resort before wandering beyond the boundaries of the CBR.

Barbados

Martinique (and the beach
)

SQUIRREL!!!

We walked around the lake to Old Port Royale where we decided to grab a bite to eat since it was close to lunch time.

After checking out all of the possibilities, we decided on pizza. But since the cost of 2 personal sized pizzas was almost the cost of a large cheese pizza. So we decided to go ahead and get the whole pie (considering we hadn’t eaten since lunch the day before) and if there would be anything left, we had a fridge and we could have cold pizza for another meal. We also decided to go ahead and get a refillable mug since we knew it would end up paying for itself quickly.
While we were waiting for our pizza, we heard some music start up and some CM’s were playing around with tambourines and handing out leis. I. Must. Investigate. Oh look! They’re doing the “limbo” under the arch of a pool noodle…
I think I’ll take a picture…wait, no, I don’t want to…oh well, what the heck…here we go!!! Before I knew it, a CM had grabbed my hand and led me right under the limbo “bar” and then handed me a blue plastic lei (that happened to match my shirt). Cbog40 informed me that I had to wear it all day now.
Oh well, I’m up for the challenge…
Yummy!

This baby will get quite a workout:

How low can you go?

My new accessory:

Cbog40 took the rest of the pizza back to the room while I wandered around the shop area a bit.
Interior of Old Port Royale

For all the fans...
(needed to work on that mayhemometer)

These are for you Soarin08! (and any other P&F fans out there)

Oh there you are Perry!!!

Amy, these are for you!!!!

We continued to explore the resort before we decided to head elsewhere.
Which one of these is not like the others?

The pool area

Going...

Going....

Gone...

SQUIRREL!!!!

Beautiful foot bridge to cut across the resort

Magic Kingdom happened to be the first bus that came by, so we hopped on to begin our adventure.

We made it to the MK and took some obligatory pictures.

At that point we decided to take advantage of each type of transportation available in the area…starting with the ferry.

The construction behind the bird is the GF DVC

How lovely the return trip from MK to the TTC via ferry in the mid afternoon. Hardly anyone on board and we got some amazing photos!!!
From there we decided to take the monorail to EPCOT and back to the TTC.

Once we were back at the TTC, we walked over to the fave of the Boilers, the Poly! It’s so easy to fall in love with the theme of that resort.

We love the art in this one shop

From there we headed upstairs to catch the resort monorail over to the grandest of them all…the Grand Floridian. I have always loved the Victorian style and it’s always been Cbog40’s favorite resort. As we walked in the door, the sounds from the orchestra worked their way into our eardrums and the view of the grandiose lobby area and the ornate chandeliers immediately put smiles on our faces.

Cbog40 and his evil twin...but which is which?

While at the Poly, I found the perfect little brush for our new kitchen:

We also saw this er…interesting sight….fahgehddabout sleeping with the fishes…when you can swim with the ducks!!!

As the sun began to set, we headed over to the boats to get back over to the MK…and eventually back onto the monorail to hit our next stop: Contemporary.
We found that lovely little balcony that overlooks the MK (thanks for the tip Amy!!!) and managed to take a few pictures of the icicle castle.
Since we had conquered what we set out to do, and it was still fairly early, we decided to catch a bus to Downtown Disney.
We were getting hungry so we decided to eat…but where? We could have gone to Earl of Sandwich, which we do really like, but a) it was really crowded and b) Cbog40’s sister used to work there both in DTD and in Vegas so we wanted something different. We came across the chicken place that took over where McDonald’s used to be and decided to try it out. There was a family meal offered and once again, it wasn’t too much more than getting 2 individual meals, so we decided to go for it. They had a wonderful salsa/sauce bar too! Of course there were leftovers and we took them back to the room as well.
After walking around a bit more, we decided to head back since we weren’t sure how long it would take to get back to the room and it was going to be an early morning the next day.
Nighty-night…
