Best tour to take

I've never gone on any of the tours offered at WDW, but this year I was thinking of actually dropping the cash and trying one. What do you think is the best tour to take? Any one's you took that you thought was a waste of time?

If you have lots of money, the tour of all tours is the Backstage Magic tour. You get to see so many areas that aren't accessible to the public. But it is really expensive.
We enjoyed the Undiscovered FutureWorld tour. That also takes you to some backstage areas and is much more reasonable in cost. I didn't find as much new and fascinating info from this tour as the Backstage Magic tour though.
I took the Behind the Steam Trains tour this past time and was so-so on the experience. Again, I didn't get a lot of inside information like I would have liked. But it was interesting to see the roundhouse where the trains are stored that not everyone gets to see.
The Wild Africa Trek was nice, but I don't know that I would spend the additional $60 that they are going to start charging come January. The photo CD was a little disappointing as well. But I got a chance to take some really great photos of the hippos, and crocs that I never get the chance to take from the moving safari vehicles.

Was that with a discount? The WDW tour website has it listed at $243.89, but it does include lunch at the Whispering Canyon restaurant at the Wilderness Lodge Resort. It really is worth it for a day if you can swing the price of admission

Hmmm, not sure. Either way, it helps if you can get the Disney Visa/AP/or other discount!

I've been on a lot of the tours. I still think the most magical one was The Keys to the Kingdom tour!! My second favorite is a toss up between Undiscovered Future World, The EPCOT Segway tour, or the Wild Africa Trek. They were all awesome! Future World one is totally cool to be behind the scenes in EPCOT but the Segways is just a lot of fun and informative too. The Wild Africa Trek is so completely different than everything else that it's hard to describe, repelling over the edge of a cliff, rickety old bridges, up and close with animals, really special. Or for something really different, a ride along at the Richard Petty Experience is unbelievable! talk about an "E" ticket!! My son and husband smiled for hours after that one!!

So I guess I would recommend them all! I think any one you pick would be great!

Where did you get to repel on the Wild Africa Trek? We didn't get to do that

There is a 6.5% tax added on to the price of any of the tours. So $229 + 6.5% = $243.89, but 7 hours multiple parks sounds pretty cool. But I don't think my family would go for a tour that long. I was also looking at the Segway tour in Epcot. Only 2 hours. Has anyone gone on that?

BIG is correct, I did indeed do the Segway tour in World Showcase, as well at Mousekedude, Mouseoholic and boilerbabe and boilerdude (I think). I believe it is called Around the World at EPCOT now. It was fun. Would I do it again at $100 a pop...maybe. There was a lot of time spent getting familiar with the Segway at the Innovations building, and not enough time playing with them out in the park for me. But I do understand the need for getting people comfortable with the machines. And even with our "extensive" training, we had someone crash in the Japanese pavilion. Luckily she was not hurt, but it does show the need for the safety helmets. I think the Wilderness Back Trail Adventure on the Segway might be interesting. You do need a good sense of balance to ride a Segway.

My family and I did the Backstage Tour, after the three of them had already done the Keys To The Kingdom tour, and all three of my family members agreed that they enjoyed the Keys tour ALOT more. The Backstage tour is more about the business side of things, how some things run, and where all the employees go to work and what not. I hadn't done the Keys tour with my fam so I honestly can't give my 2 cents on it, but it sounds pretty cool. What's that Epcot tour you guys mentioned? Sounds interesting!
