Why does that remind me of the plot of Chicken Little that Disney did a few years back (it was a horrific alien invasion, I just don't remember if they were green)...momeja wrote:So what's the backstory for the vinylmations, NaCler? I can imagine one, but it involves horror and an invasion of little green vinyl men. Not too Disney.

I am finally getting caught up on your report (and Amy's
)
This is truly awesome--getting to hang out with Amy and the two Moms..
And I must say...I am really surprised that you were willing to stand next to that vile bear without punching him..and smiling, no less!
It must have been the tequila talking.
Yours and Amy's reports really make me look forward to meeting all of you! Even you mf
..And even if I have to run 13 miles to do it.

I'd keel over if I had to run the 13 miles though

Re: The Many Adventures of NaCler (& Family)
I forgot a cool little anecdote from the trip and since I have a pic, I might as well share it.
Well, if you read my trip report, then you know we gave up on Toy Story Midway Mania as the standby line was about 65 minutes and the FP were gone by 10:30am. After we left the Great Movie Ride we decided to check and see if the line had died down for TSMM. When we got there we saw no one in the maze outside but a couple of people waiting nearby, so we asked. Yep, the ride was broken down and they had no clue when it would be back up. It was about 10:30 and we had no plans until 11, when we were going to see if we could get into Sci-Fi Diner. So, we decided to wait with the 10 or so people to see if it would open up.
Here is a pic of me waiting for the ride to open up:

About 15 minutes of waiting paid off as they opened the gates. We were about 10th in line so it was basically walk-on once we got to through the maze. Those tricky CM's walked in front of the line VERY slowly so that they could let in as many FP people as possible. We were very happy that we decided to wait! I just hope we have the same luck when we bring the kids back as that is the one ride they are really looking forrward to.

Re: The Many Adventures of NaCler (& Family)
Okay so I am now all caught up on your side of the report. Awesome job and I really enjoyed reading it!
Day 3: I'm really glad you enjoyed the trip down the jib. If I may ask did you sit-up or lay down when riding. The best method for riding is what I had posted over in my report... lay down with your back arched, feet straight out and crossed, and keep your head off the slide. If being done right you will only have three points of contact (2 shoulder blades and one arch) thus negating friction and allowing faster speeds to be achieved (At least I learned something in physics last year
). I am also very jealous of you staying in MK until after 3AM. That is definitely something I always wanted to do.
Pictures: Love the Tebow, but you really should have removed the cap for added effect. MSEP definitely looks so much cooler at night during the holidays. I really like how the castle lights fit in with the parade floats. Very cool seeing a bus display showing 3:47AM. The latest I have ever been on was 2:12AM.
There is no bus to DTD from the parks as people would then use DTD for free parking. Disney probably feels that if there was a bus they would lose money as the lost parking revenue would overshadow the gain in merchandise sales. Secondly, most merchandise at DTD can be found at the main theme park stores anyway.NaCler wrote: We left the park and headed towards... Port Orleans. Yep, that's right, there is no bus that takes you to DTD from the park, so we hopped the first bus we saw. Luckily, it was PO, which is very close to DTD. Why oh why Disney do you not have buses that take you straight to DTD from the Parks? People want to spend money... Make it easier! Sorry...

Re: The Many Adventures of NaCler (& Family)
Len, thanks for reading my report and for your replies. I'm only wanting a bus to go from the parks to DTD, not the return trip back to the parks. I do agree that if there was service to the parks from DTD, there would be people taking advantage of the free parking. If there was one way from Parks to DTD, then people would be stuck if they weren't staying at a resort. I like that DTD has everything for you in one shop. There were several things that I saw sold in EPCOT but not anywhere else except for DTD, same for other parks. Plus, most Lego stuff and some VM's you can only get from DTD.
Jib slide... Laying on my back but no arching. I'm a big guy so arching is too much work
. I had some pretty good speed, so I was very happy. Lost my sunglasses and hat when I hit.
Tebowing... I have a hatless version, but since I'm halfway bald I thought I would spare everyone.

The whole idea of vinylmation reminds me vaguely of the Mickey game for Wii. I bought it for the husband, who admittedly might be a bigger Disney fan than I but doesn't have the ability to access subsonic at work.mindflipper wrote:Why does that remind me of the plot of Chicken Little that Disney did a few years back (it was a horrific alien invasion, I just don't remember if they were green)...momeja wrote:So what's the backstory for the vinylmations, NaCler?
