How can you survive?!
Our WDW trip frequency is about 2 1/2 years on average (lately). So being less than a year from our next trip is actually pretty easy. My daughters are both teenagers, and swimmers, so that keeps me busy, too, and since they don't know we're going (muwahahaha) I don't have them adding to my excitement. Hubby and I just wink and share our little secret, and I know the year will fly just as it has in the past. Last year we were planning our trip to Yellowstone and that time flew by, and before we knew it, we were there, and then we were home again. So, I'll make it.
But it's kind of hard, too.

Subsonic definitely helps pass the time. That's for sure.

Agreed!
I can't believe I'm down to one week! Even though I've been counting down, it still snuck up on me. This weekend is going to be PACKED with planning and preparation.

We went in January 2010 just a couple of weeks after the BIG FREEZE. Crowds were VERY nice. The only major drawback for me was that it was pretty chilly in the mornings (temps in the mid-upper 40s Fahrenheit) and topped out in the mid-upper 60s during the day. We just handled that by dressing in layers. My niece, who was 4, had chosen a Tinkerbell dress at Bipitty Boppity Boutique (or however that's spelled!!) and didn't last more than an hour before she was back at the hotel getting changed into regular clothes (dress has straps, no sleeves, brrrrr). It was obvious that some of the more tender plants had taken a hit with the super cold temps earlier in the month, and while I didn't go swimming of course the 4 kids did, and then scurried back to the villa with blued lips and requests for hot cocoa. It was actually pretty nice to be there and not be SWEATING in the afternoon heat.
46 days!!! Have a splendid time!

Thanks everyone!!
cy1229 - I was actually in DW DURING the big freeze last December. Not only did we have to fight a MAJOR blizzard to just get to florida (I'm from Minnesota and it was our massive snowstorm that shut down the city and broke the dome from the metrodome!) Then we get to florida and it is FREEZING! Not what we wanted coming from Minnesota! haha But we braved the freezing, plant killing temps and still had a good time. Needless to say, I'm hoping that this January and with the unseasonably warm weather we have been having lately - we will luck out and have some 70 degree days!

I'm praying for it too - but winter in Florida can be highly unpredictable. Let's keep the fingers crossed for some 70 degree days!

Major *like* to this!
I was there last year in December also when it was bitter cold... Let's hope for a nice few days.

I remember when the dome cracked - that was big news! And yeah, it was chilly at WDW last December

My internship starts in 41 days, does that count???

Even though I'll be down a week prior.

Since you will most certainly find time to be in the parks while you are there, I would say it counts!

Definitely hoping for some nice and warm days!!! The last two times I was in DW was in the month of December and November - so we haven't been able to use the pool. I know, using the pool in January seems unlikely but I'm staying optimistic! haha
Being there last December with those freezing temps - I can't take another week in Florida like that. haha
I know this is a random question - but being that the week we are going is said to be a 'slow' week - any different things you guy can think of that would be fun to do that you can't do when the parks are super crowded?

I can't think of anything specific, but I CAN tell you that a less crowded park makes navigation and strolling about that much easier. I've never been there when it's crazy-busy. The worst was in June 2008 on the first day of g** Days, and there were a lot of people EVERYWHERE. We still were able to do the things we wanted to do, it just took longer to do them.
The lines in January were pretty short. We still had to wait for the most popular things, but not very long. We could get decent seats for Illuminations and the parades without having to stake our claim hideously early. We could walk as slowly and meander as much as we wanted to. Counter service meal lines were pretty short, too.
Does that help?
