Anybody have any thoughts on small point and shoot waterproof digital cameras? Considering getting one before the trip but my head is starting to spin looking at the options...

This sounds like a job for...Cameraboy! (or you may need to PM his mild-mannered secret identity: Len90)Amy wrote:Anybody have any thoughts on small point and shoot waterproof digital cameras? Considering getting one before the trip but my head is starting to spin looking at the options...

Does he do the little ones though? I thought he was more into the big SLR outfits...mindflipper wrote:This sounds like a job for...Cameraboy! I bought the Nikon Coolpix underwater camera/ waterproof too! It cute and green, and works great! I specifically bought it for our WDW trip this past summer and it takes great pictures!! I bought it at Costco for $129, I don't know what the price is elsewhere. We used it in the rain, and took it on Splash Mountain all the way through the drop for a complete video! We have now used it at the beach in the ocean and underwater in our pool... love it!

He said in a previous post he has both when he visits WDW, and his brother is the "Master of the Video Camera"...Amy wrote:Does he do the little ones though? Although cousin's testimonial above doesn't sound like a bad deal...

Do you remember the model number of the Nikon? That is one I was possibly looking at, but it wasn't anywhere near that cheap

Got the camera ordered. We'll be sporting a new Sony Cybershot TX-10. I ended up going with the same brand as our main camera so it can share memory cards...hopefully it will be a good little camera

Yup - to 16' I believe. Looking forward to taking some videos on the water rides. Guess I'll have to come up with another reason for ducking and drenching others on Splashmindflipper wrote:Is it waterproof?Amy wrote:Got the camera ordered. Hmmm, I'm not sure about this online check-in. I've heard others have done it. I don't know if we can, but I think I will go check it out...
EDIT: Yeah, I don't see anything for checking in online....

Go to disneyparks.disney.go.com and click register. Enter your email address and password to create your Disney account (I'm shocked you don't have one yet!) then it has a place for my reservations. Type in your ressie # and it will add the trip to your account.. Complete with a countdown in the top right corner! It shows all the details about your trip, adr info, I'm sure it would even show the tours you have scheduled. Within 10 days of your trip, which we are at now, it will give you a link saying that you can check in online. Click that and just verify your info. Once you complete it, you can go to the "express" online check-in line at All Star. When you check in you just flash your I'd and they hand you your packet. No delays and no long waits. It makes a HUGE difference at the Value resorts.
Seeing that countdown is worth it! It helps with the antici....pation of the trip.
