It's true, at least with chefs, it is akin to asking a painter to add your face into a masterpiece.
They may not have a veg option though as many of these things are preped and formed hours ahead of time so that they simply have to cook it.
Thanksgiving crowds?

Yeah, I've seen enough cooking shows to know that a lot of the preparation happens well ahead of when the food is actually cooked. I would only ask if I really, really, really wanted to try something and I was allergic to the ingredients, not if I simply didn't like them...Wizzard419 wrote:It's true, at least with chefs, it is akin to asking a painter to add your face into a masterpiece.

You would probably want to avoid the food anyway if you were allergic to something since it may be cooked in the same oil as the normal version, which is also why a lot of places won't allow for requests like that. With sauces it's easy to avoid stuff but with the actual food it's similar to veggie burgers, they are cooked on the same grill as meat so you get that beefy goodness.

Yeah, I was thinking that as I was typing. Plus, if you were allergic to a certain food, as I am with coconut, foods made with that ingredient don't sound appealing.Wizzard419 wrote:You would probably want to avoid the food anyway if you were allergic to something since it may be cooked in the same oil as the normal version, which is also why a lot of places won't allow for requests like that. Yeah, if you're allergic to a common food item, you probably have a hell of a time going out since few places can ensure your protection.
