don't worry google is working on it but they are still years of photographing behind. I you look at the pics (I think) some are before the 50th celebration. I know that when I looked at my house (since I am in a major city) I noticed that the north south pics were from 2004 and the east west pics are from nov-dec 2005 (it was on a Friday because I could see the trash at the curb).

I just got an idea from this. Where can I get a poster image of DL/DCA from space? My uncle has a poster of San Diego taken from space and to get one with DL/DCA would be a great gift to get him for his birthday.

The Birds eye view is great, but it does make you notice just how small the castle is in Disneyland. It looks tiny!

That's true, forced perspective only works when you are on the ground looking up. It will be nice to see WDW when they take the pictures to kind of get a comparison thing going.

Wow!

While the interface certinaly needs some work (I like Google Earth for browsing), that is a really cool feature. Unlike just the straight-down view, this actually lets you see the sides of buildings.

Did anybody else notice the "time-warp" effect that sometimes happens as you change orientations. Facing east, the Tower of Terror is well underway, but in the other orientations, it is still empty ground or parking lot. The island in Paradise Bay comes and goes as well. =)

Thanks for the great link.

I agree that the birds eye view of WDW would be great. However, I wonder if they can do it. Isn't it a no-fly zone over WDW? :?

They take the pictures using Satellites (spelling?).

Your spelling looks good to me. I know that they take the direct overhead photos from satellites, but I thought the birds-eye view pictures were taken from airplanes. I could be wrong.

Man, it's times like these I wish my computer was a Windows instead of a Mac. It sounds really cool.

The Birds-Eye view is definatly shot from an Airplane. If the space over WDW is indeed a no-fly zone we will have a long wait.

ttztptdca50: The website should work on any computer, you don't need a windows PC to see these maps.

Oh. Well, then I guess it's times like these that I wish this stupid computer would run sites that twenty other people are "WOW"-ing about.
