it looks interesting, and looks like some of the cursed pirates from the first one are now sailing under Jack. Can't wait for the summer...

Ofcourse ALL the cursed pirates used to sail under Jack, before they mutineed. But I am glad those two from the trailer (Pintel and Ragetti) are back, I really liked them.

I agree it looks better than the first but looks can be deceiving ....the sequel almost never lives up to the original....althought the Indiana Jones films did in my opinion.

I think the second Austin Powers movie was better than the first, all be it that the first had to explain allot.

Will Captain Jack be on the ride by September?
I don't think they will change the ride much anyway since it is such a classic.

The new versions of the Pirate ride opens June 24 at Disneyland, and July 7 at Walt Disney World.

It was from a recent press release. I linked to it in another thread

I got to see Jason Surrell the other day, and he basically gave a scene by scene synopsis of Dead Man's Chest, along with some info on the third movie due out July of 2007. I think you'll be surprised at how good the story really is. The guys who did the first one didn't even WANT a sequel unless they could come up with something they felt was at par with the first one. So, before they even agreed to do it, they sat down and picked apart the first movie for clues of what they could do to make all the movies feel like a true trilogy... like they'd always been planned as three parts... instead of just a cash-in. The end result is a movie that references the first one to almost an insane level, as well as including several more references to the ride. Without ruining anything, my advice to everyone is to watch the first movie about five times before the second one comes out. Pay attention to EVERYTHING that is said. And I mean EVERYTHING. I think you'll be shocked. :)

There were also clues to what might be in sequels in one of the audio commentaries on the DVD. The one with the writers I believe.

I think there are clues that there is something supernatural about the Black Pearl that doesn't have to do with the cursed treasure. Like, who was manning those oars? and how can it sail so fast with tattered sails?

I am really looking forward to this new movie.
