Sorry if I've missed something, but tell me Amy: does this mean you won't be there in January? I'm really excited for you that you and F1gment get to take two weeks at the time you are going (and I definitely understand the timing due to AP's...), but we sure will be missing you if you can't come in January.

I agree Amy, it is pricey. But I went ahead and made the dinner package reservation for the Friday night Candlelight Processional for the three of us, the total $207 without tip at The Coral Reef. We decided to do that rather than spend the same amount of extra money on Mickey's VMCP which seems to me expensive for some hot cocoa and cookies!

Are you going on a dining plan? We never do the dining plan because as Florida Residents and Annual Passholders it doesn't pay for us to do it. We also have Tables in Wonderland and get 20% off of food and beverages! Besides the fact that for us it just seems like too much food. We did the dining plan one time a few years back when staying at the Wilderness Lodge and it felt like all we did was eat! But guess what for this trip TIW does not work for the Candlelight Processional dinner package! Figures!

You are there for so long you can probably find a night that won't be as crowded for the Candlelight Processional, and hopefully the wait won't be too bad. We will get to compare notes after both of our trips! Yay!

F1gment and I are content to stand/sit in line. We just wouldn't eat all that food ~ and if we did we would probably need a nap afterwards. No one wants to hear us snoring during the program I am interested in hearing how you like your meal and seats.
I tried to convince Mom to eat at Coral Reef once, but she is allergic to seafood and the smell was too strong when we just entered the doors that we couldn't stay.

That's true, if you avoid the weekends and holidays, you can get into the Candlelight Processional a lot easier...

I'd have to look back to see which day we went last year. It was super crowded waiting in line though Luckily we sort of stalled out very close to the Seven Seas Lagoon so I was able to be anti-social and take photos of the Illuminations barges coming in and ignore the hundreds of people packed way too close in for my sanity's sake!

I'm so glad you guys were able to pull off the trip!!! It would have been a shame for those APs to expire and not see the light of WDW again...
Once again, I look forward to your amazing pictures (especially of the Osborne Lights)! We will miss them by 2 days in January...
Out of Curiosity, who is reading at the Candlelight Processional while you are there?

Yeah, we are going to have to take that into consideration when we are deciding what to do with those 10 day tickets that come with our package this time. The bad news is that I have to actually find the passes I remember thinking I should put them somewhere safe, but that is all I can remember I'm pretty sure guest services can help us out if I can't find them....
While we are there, the narrators will be Mira Sorvino and Michael W. Smith. We saw Jodi Benson last time

Never say never. I'm still really hoping to make it down for even a few days in January. I can't miss all that mayhem I don't know that F1gment will be up for the trip, but I doubt she will be happy seeing me leave for sunny Florida while she is freezing in Michigan I will definitely be sending off our personages on a stick ala MmeLeota and CBog40 if we can't make it in person!

I didn't know the crowds were bad during Thanksgiving week? Even as crowded as it was the 11 days this past July, we were able to avoid the crowds pretty good. And the weird thing is that no matter what restaurant we wanted to go to, with just the two of us we got in everywhere! I am sure you will be able to get in wherever you want to eat and see it all!

I would be totally jealous except for the fact I will be there right after you! Tee-hee! While you are up there in the world having fun and being so civilized, I will be kicking a _ _ and taking names on Black Friday! Take no prisoners!

Actually, I've done Thanksgiving down at Diz more than once and yes, I can tell you, there will be crowds. Thanksgiving Day: people, people, people - everywhere you look there's more people.

Some restaurants will switch from menu to family dining style because they're trying to move soooo many people in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible that day. If there is a particular place you want to eat on Thanksgiving Day, you need to make ADR's as early as possible. Any sit-down dining establishment in a park will get booked up quickly.

All I can say is if they were anything like Christmas Day, I don't think it'll be too horrid. But granted, we spent Christmas Day at DHS and then Epcot, and we know those aren't as busy at MK on any holiday.

MmeLeota was kind enough to send me crowd estimates and it does look like MK is the park to avoid over the weekend and holiday. Makes sense, some people think MK is the only thing to go see
