Until people start lingering at the distractions!
You could always just go around them (if there is a huge gap and they don't seem to notice it)

I've done that with Space Mountain. People will stop and gawk or be checking their phones and if there is a huge gap, I just go around. If they gasp and hurry up, I'll let them back in front of me, but most of the time they don't care.

Poor Mouseoholic is devastated by the news that BTMRR is shutting down in January right in the middle of our trip! We have a tradition that it is one of the first.... and one of the last... rides that we do on every trip. Now we're not going to be able to follow the tradition on this trip. Oh well... I guess that means we'll be riding it more often on the first half of this trip...

Good thing she knows now so she can schedule the extra rides in at the beginning of the trip! ;)

Yup! In fact, she told me about this several days ago... so she's definitely keeping up with events at WDW while she's still in Aussie land!

I guess that means she will have to switch to starting with Everest and then ending the trip with Everest... :mickey:

AMEN, those distractions ruined the Space Mountain queue for me! And if you try to all go around the people playing the games, it p*** them off. :x Well it's your own fault for standing there and holding up the line.

Was standing in line that entertaining before that the addition of stuff took away from the magic of the DMV?

I just passed people in the SM line if they lingered at the "distractions" when the line started moving again. If they noticed, I let them back in, otherwise I just left them to their games while I moved on toward the REAL attraction.

Since BTM is my daughter's favorite ride, I'll have to figure out how to break it to her that it won't be open during our March 2012 trip. :?

Tell her that Matterhorn is way better than BTM! :D

Luckily the rufurb doesn't affect my opportunity to go on BTM for the first time.

..err, what do you want done with the queue? People are already too distracted with iphones and the such in the line now to pay attention and move forward - what do you want them to do now? Add interactive video games so they can have more distractions?
I wouldn't mind if they expanded the "inside"portion of the queue. Then they could widen the queue for wheelchair access and it would be a little more comfortable not being too close to the people in the other parts of the line.
I was hopin for a redesign in how they walk you through the queue. I hate how it winds so much and is extremely narrow to walk through. Madeye definitely hit the nail on the head with what I was trying to get at! If there is a long wait on a summer day it gets very uncomfortable being in such close proximity to everyone else. If there is no wait then you get dizzy going through all those narrow turns.
