I never knew how...traumatic...that missed moment in photography can be. Sounds like Disney should set up grief counseling for photographers at the park...  :mickey:

Yup! Just missed a good shot of the actual fireworks themselves, but I thought the smoke trails looked cool too, so.....

I do the exact same thing...though it's mostly inside-my-head sulking
However, though I don't always get that one shot I'm looking for, sometimes the consolation shot is better than the original.
In your case M-dude, that smoke trails shot is awesome! Plus I bet you can see the smoke trails better than you would have seen the actual fireworks in the photo.

You've got a point, the daytime fireworks probably might not be very spectacular on film....

Yup. I have to agree with both points. So I'm happy with the "consolation shot" in this case. :D

Quick study/work break for me. I really enjoyed taking photos on this particular day as the lighting was just perfect :D

Wow ~ you couldn't have asked for a nicer set-up with those beautiful white fluffy clouds in a pretty blue sky! Nice shot Len :D

Nice monorail shot there! Even the reflection in the water looks amazing.

Agreed! It was so cold and windy when we were last there I don't think we could have found calm enough waters for a pretty reflection...

Thanks a lot everybody!!!

I believe that was taken at around noon on our last day. There were a lot of external factors that really worked in my favor. The time of day, the sky with just a few clouds, no wind, and the actual monorail color all went my way. EPCOT really has some of the best locations to take photos of the monorails. The area between both future world and World Showcase is one of my absolute favorites. There is also a good vantage point near Imagination and of course the EPCOT monorail station. They come right past you at the same level.

You know, I have some pretty killer monorail shots, but I can't even come close to that one Len! My hat's off to you! Yeah, it was definitely a "perfect storm" of perfect conditions when you took that one! It's almost like it was planned and set up hours in advance! Those shots don't come along all that often.... congrats on being in the perfect place at the perfect time!
