Strategy For The Jedi Academy

Post by rphillips14 » Aug Sat 27, 2011 4:30 am

My 5 year old son wants to go through the Jedi Academy. Does anyone have any advice on how to be in the first group after rope drop?

Get to the park early, be in the front of the line, walk really fast to Star Tours? ;) I'm not sure if that is a first come-first served or not. You might try calling guest services and asking what times the Jedi Academy runs.

there is actually a sign up area near the sounds dangerous attraction. Head straight there...most people ehad to TSM or Sunset Blvd for the headliners, so you should have no problem..May the Force be with You.

We just got back, and the signup system has changed. It's a lot easier as I understand it, with less chance for heartbreak. We were there at rope drop, and we were signed up for the 10:50 show. So here's what I recommend:

Get there for rope drop, and go off to the left. There will be cast members holding up lightsabers, giving instructions on how to sign up for the Jedi Academy. Follow them in an orderly line to the signup building (NOT Star Tours) near Sounds Dangerous, and wait in the queue. They say if you don't follow them and go to the building yourself, you will be directed to the back of the line. If you are there at rope drop I can confidently say that you will get into Jedi Academy. Have fun!

My daughter was in the first group when we were there for Star Wars Weekend in May. As Amy said, the trick is simply to focus on Jedi Training first. If there are two adults, let one adult go get Fastpasses for Toy Story Mania while the other parent goes with your son to the Jedi Training check in.
