probably best to call at this late of a date...
Oh I don't expect to get emails before my trip, just as more of an investigative thing to find out why I didn't get any.

Even with a package? I've never gotten them with a room only reservation.
Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

I'm not sure about that Poly Princess...for our Oct. trip, I'm using my AP, so I don't need tickets. But B-dude has tickets. We didn't get anything except our Magical Express info. Maybe both people have to have tickets to make it a "package"?!

We got those things last December. Maybe it is new? Or maybe you do need a package deal?

I think the tags fell by the wayside when they started the magical express tags, I just noticed that now too where the mini golf, boats, etc. are no longer free, the arcade card is kind of a moot point though since they have DQ.

The one thing I did not like about the mini golf (even if it was a free offer) was that it wasn't easy to get to.

They did the luggage tags even they had Magical Express, really, I don't remember them doing it until there was ME! We still use ours, they changed them each year. And the arcade card was nice b/c it was for your resort. I agree, the mini golf is not easy to get to unless you're staying at Bowardwalk, Yacht Club or Beach Club. Those have been only times we've done mini golf, is when we were staying at one of those resorts. But, it's a blast and worth it if you can get there!!! :D

Yeah, we got luggage tags this past time. We've never used the mini golf since it does seem hard to get to the courses. I never used the arcade card this past time even though I was planning on it. I'm not a big gamer and the arcade was usually closed by the time we returned from the parks at night.

When I went in 2008 I don't recall getting any tags other than the bright yellow paper tag for the express. Must have been an off year to give them.

Yep, I booked through disney. The only part that wasn't booked through them was the airline.

Hmmm, must have been an off year like you said. We never book the airfare through Disney...

If I recall, in the giant plastic envelope, it said that you should keep it with you while checking in but I don't think I used the contents once during the trip, the paper tags were affixed prior to arrival at the airport and I didn't use the luggage service coming back since I had an early flight. Kind of silly to have that much paperwork with no purpose.

I just received my the cool luggage tags as well as vouchers and I am a passholder. Question for Polynesian Princess...I have been staying on Disney property for years but have never stayed at the Poly. This will be my first time staying there which longhouse do you consider the best? I have a garden view.

What's most important to you for the location? Near the main house/transportation? Near the pool? Private and more secluded? Good view? Etc. Really there's not a bad room at the Polynesian, but I'll give you some suggestions once I know a little more! :)

hmm let's see. Good view is always a plus, if there is somewhere that is equal distance between the main bldg and the dock. Are all of the bldgs renovated? Now that I am thinking about it...maybe closer to the main bldg since that is where the dole whip is...lol

The Polynesian's last renovation was in 2006, so yes, all of the buildings have the latest renovation. I forgot about the latest update and was only thinking of the last major renovation. Yes, I think all of those refreshes are done too.

Here's a map for you to get an idea:
http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/polymap.htm

I've personally stayed in Hawaii and Tokelau. Hawaii is all concierge, so you won't get that building unless you stay club level or get a magical upgrade. Obviously the location of Hawaii is amazing. Tokelau was fine - it was nice of course, but is one of those locations where you feel like you're not too far from anything, but at the same time you're not close to anything either.

My first choice would be Rarotonga - step out one side of the building and you're inside GCH, step out the other side and you're at the bus stop. You'll be a little bit further from the marina in this building. The biggest disadvantage would be that one side faces the parking lot. On that side, you would be able to watch the monorail and from what I've read and seen, most of the parking lot view is obstructed by the trees and plants. However, you have to consider and decide whether or not the possibility of seeing some cars would ruin it for you. This is where we'll probably be requesting the next time we stay at Polynesian.

My second choice would be Samoa - you'll end up with a pool view either way since one side faces the volcano pool and the other faces the newly renovated quiet pool. It's right next to Hawaii, so you'll have a great central location. You'll be farther from the buses here though. Also, the pools can be loud and sometimes people swimming take the furniture off the patios of those staying on the first floor of Samoa.

Niue is right between Samoa and Rarotonga and would be another option. All of these views should be pretty standard garden view rooms - plants and buildings. The disadvantage here is that there isn't an elevator to the second floor, so you'll have to go through Rarotonga to use that elevator, then walk across a connecting deck, if you are on the second floor and need/prefer to use an elevator.
