True, you live just about in the middle between South Bend and Chicago...boilerbabe wrote:I hop they do b/c that would also be an alternative for us too!Amy wrote:Nah, it's okay. I know, my dad used to insist on flying Delta when he got a lot of Frequent Flier miles, but now I've convinced him to do Southwest for the baggage. He now realises that if I fly home for Christmas instead of driving, this is the plan. Mostly because I have a lot of bags and I doubt he wants to shell out all that money to check them again.Amy wrote:Nah, it's okay. Southwest seems to be adding new hubs more often, they're getting Atlanta in February. I know this doesn't count but it's still a step up!

I didn't enjoy our very recent experience with Delta. They charged for bags and were late taking off everytime and my big pet peeve, there were no non-stop flights! I think we'll stick with Southwest. We had booked Delta b/c we were supposed to fly to St. Thomas, and you really don't have any choices when flying to St. Thomas from Midway. But, if you've got frequent flyer miles, I would understand why you would use them.

Okay, here is the latest... the bad news. If I don't get the professional internship, I arrive on the 9th, which I think would cut it a couple days as far as the meet-up. I can still get the tickets I had promised yodiwan1 and can book rooms with my discount, I just wouldn't be there to help out with other discounts until the 9th.
The good thing is if I get the professional position all this with the college program goes out the door and I can go to Orlando as soon as I want. So I'll keep you all informed.

Wow, sounds like you would like the professional position in more ways than one. Would you wait until the semester finishes at school to head to WDW?Soarin08 wrote:Okay, here is the latest... the bad news. I finish on the 17th of December, and if I don't get the professional position, I will likely fly home as there isn't much of a call for my car. I'm considering bringing it for the college program mostly just to aid me in getting groceries. If I do get the professional one, then I plan on getting down at least a week ahead of checking in so I can get moved into my place and have some time before I start work to be at the parks and such.Amy wrote:Wow, sounds like you would like the professional position in more ways than one. Looking at the schedule, and knowing that a weekend is the only way it will work out for me, it looks like Jan 6-7-8 sounds the best. I will try to work it out, even if it's just for two nights!
