That's something I never thought I'd hear someone say in this thread. I thought it was already terrible from the first post.Brian845 wrote:This thread has taken a marked turn for the worse...

Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

On topic, I don't know if anyone's interested, or if this has already been posted, but Fox has picked up the story and added some details:

I've heard their online section doesn't agree with their on air section but I have a feeling this will get skewered by them on tv since they hated Wall-E and Avatar for their "pro-environment" message.

Ah, yes, the Mass Effect "sex scene" where there wasn't any sex.

What? I don't get the connection. Why not at DHS along with Star Wars, Twilight? Then it might make sense to me. Then again, I tend to be a lover of the "classical" side of Disney.

Looking at FOX on-line article, it did not surprise me to see this:
Cameron is working on the second and third installments of "Avatar," to be released in December 2014 and December 2015.
The park will include elements of the second and third films and elements that aren't included in any of the films.
Given when they say construction will start, it could be finished between the two films.

It's a pretty easy connection, the whole "being one with nature" thing and how it's not good to exploit natural resources.

Considering how anti-environmental they are... like I'm gonna believe what they say.Mousekedude wrote:On topic, I don't know if anyone's interested, or if this has already been posted, but Fox has picked up the story and added some details:

Was reading a thread on another Disney board and several people brought up the point that a better idea at DAK would be to expand to include the animals of the Americas/Australia/to some extent, Antarctica. None of that is represented AT ALL in the park- isn't that what DAK is supposed to be about? I for one would much rather go into a land themed around Australia, especially since they have ZERO representation anywhere in the parks, with real animals than some fantasy blue alien world that likely will flop if the sequels don't go over well (I'm thinking POTC 2-4 here). Who is to say Avatar 2 and 3 will be a big success? If they suck, then Disney is gonna feel awfully weird sinking all this money into something like this. It seems too big a gamble for a company like Disney to take on.

Antartic might be a little tough since only 3 can be found above water for periods of time and they would need to build enclosed habitats.
I wonder if the climate of florida plays a factor in the additions? Either that or having to add to the overall size, which means more walking between sections.
Honestly, AK has been a 1 hour park for me since there are larger and better zoos in So Cal. That and it's so humid in there.

I only go for Everest, maybe Dinosaur. So I stay two hours at the most. Definitely would not break my heart if Disney ever got rid of the entire park.

With the way GLOBAL WARMING is affecting animal distribution, Just put them where you think they're gonna be!!! I mean we can now go fish for KING GRAB in the Antarctic. I've seen birds in Tennessee in the last few years that aren't (in my audubon bird identification book) suppose to north of Texas.
