cousininmiami wrote:Howzit going on the lighting part of your BIG project Mousekedude? I am continuing some work on my Disney room. I have come to realize that I have way more than can be comfortably put in the room! Seriously, it will end up looking cluttered I think, but I love it so far!
There was an ad in the sunday paper from K-mart that had a Mickey comforter and sheet set. It looks to be right up my alley and not too expensive either, so I will head over there today to get a look at it. And then our next project is to rip out the carpeting and put in wood flooring in that room, and all of our bedrooms actually. But the Disney room will get the new floor first!
As for now Disney crafters, have a great week!
How lucky to have some bedding that coordinates go on sale as you're doing the Disney room! Looking forward to seeing what it all looks like when you are done

And now I find myself needing to go check out the KMart ad for this week

I might have to venture into KMart this week just to peek and see if they have a full sized set. The only ones in the ad are twin

But for a whole set that really is a good deal! Have you decided on the Mickey or Minnie sheet set cousininmiami?

Ok so I went to K-mart right after work and walked directly to kids bedding. All they had was one comforter and it was a twin and was Mickey! So I put it in my cart. Then along comes another lady with the same page in her hand as me looking for the same bedding! She complained when there wasn't another one and said she was going to find the manager to she what also they might have.
So, meanwhile my competitive nature kicked in and I proceeded to put everything I could get my hands on in my cart! Mickey decorated pillows, full sheet set, twin sheet set, Mickey blanket throw, full bedskirt, twin bedskirt, two extra packages of Mickey pillowcases. Geeeeeze. So now by this time the lady is back with the manager, and now there is really nothing there... I got it all tee-hee! I left the scene and went up to pay... $168.14. Holy Sh_ _ !!!! So I paid and went to the car with my booty.
The only thing I couldn't get was the Mickey comforter in a full size. But I have a plan. I'm going to find either a plain black, or maybe a black and white polka dot one, and put the Mickey throw blanket on top of that. It will look great... I think!
So there you go... I guess the moral of the story is don't mess with me when I am shopping for Disney stuff! My husband kind of gave me the hairy eyeball, but said great job!

That is hilarious!!!

Wow, I would hate to be by you on Black Friday

Did the lady and the manager see you and your full cart? Were you laughing maniacally all the way to the front of the store? It actually sounds like you managed to get quite a lot for $168. That renews my determination to make it to KMart this week (shudder, our KMart is a virtual ghost-town) and check for the full sheet set
EDIT: I almost died laughing while reading this....then I read it aloud to F1gment who is watching tv. I almost couldn't speak by the time I was halfway through I was laughing sooooo hard!

Do have any other KMarts locally? Maybe they have what you're missing?

Yes I was grinning from ear to ear, I felt like I had just won the lottery! Meanwhile, I never intended to buy all that stuff... but I thought I might want it in the future and I didn't want anyone else to get it! Hee-Hee!
If you look on the K-mart website, it's doesn't appear that they make any other size in the comforter other than twin, which is weird because they have the full bedskirt and the full sheet set.

I think my idea might work though for the full bed, I just have to find just the right thing! So, off I go later on today to look at some other places!

F1gment and I ventured to KMart this morning. Our store had tons of Mickey, Minnie, Cars, Dora...I ended up with the Minnie full sheet set because I thought it was cuter than the Mickey set. Not thrilled that it isn't 100% cotton, but I suppose for the occasional fill in for the regular sheets, it will be worth the smile seeing the mickey shapes. That was the other reason I ended up with the Minnie sheets...no bows, just pink Mickeys!
I have some photos of our trip I'll have to put on later. We were much more restrained on the purchasing, but a little crazy with the shopping

I about ruptured my spleen (laughing) when I read your shopping adventure, cousininmiami. Can I recruit you to shop for me?
To answer your question from the other day.... no, I haven't done anything with the lights yet. Mouseoholic is due back from Australia today, so I've been focused on getting things ready for her return. Sadly, she'll only be here for a week, then she has to go back for another three weeks!

So I doubt we'll have time to do anything with the shadowbox... although I do hope she comes on here and posts her reaction upon seeing it.
Amy... hilarious pics!

And good for you... rockin' the Sub shirt...

Bummer about M-oholic only being home for a week and having to go back. Sure she isn't looking forward to the really long plane trip both ways either

Hopefully she gets some frequent flyer miles ~ Australia and back a couple times should equal some free tickets to Disney!!
