Favorite character you've met?

Post by Cub » Sep Sun 18, 2011 1:03 pm

What's a Disney vacation without meeting the characters? Everyone loves taking photos/getting autographs!
So... who is your favorite character you've met? Have they done something special other than just posing for the picture? Share your characters and even pictures!

My favorite so far is Stitch. When I met him at the AK, he got down on one knee as if he were proposing. I told him yes and he jumped up and down with joy!

That is a great photo Cub! I must mention though, you and Stitch will have some pretty interesting looking children for sure  ;)
I am not much for meeting characters. I take the characters pictures from the side, in between the eager little children (or adults) so I can capture just the character. I would say the character I have had my photo taken with the most is Tigger. No particular reason, it just seems to happen that way.

Maleficent calling me "pet" is one just one of the highlights of me meeting villians.

I don't know if anyone considers them "true" characters, but I had a great conversation with a streetmospher actor at DHS once. She came up to me saying something like, "Darling, I haven't seen you since the party", and we kept the conversation going for a while. I just love the actors that roam and break improv on the street, or when you're waiting in line :hatter_bounce:

Was she in a maroon dress and hat?

So long ago, I don't remember the dress color, but she did have a very big hat on, and she was a heavy set lady. British accent I think.

Drawing a blank. The way you said she spoke made me think of Dorma Nesbit but the hat and her size are off so it isn't her.

Are the street characters cast by body size as well? I would have thought those characters would have more leeway on height, hair, etc....although if they are all having to fit into the same costume I suppose I could see them being all about the same size.

I wouldn't know as I've never been in Entertainment. But I do believe that what they (Disney) looks for for the Citizens of Hollywood is their ability to do improv comedy first and foremost. Most of those costumes are custom made (at least I think, I haven't seen them outside of MGM) for the actor or actress portraying them. Hence why you will never see two different Paige Turners, two Melvin Machismos, etc.

We had a lady at DHS come up to us and start talking. I forget who she was, I want to say she looked like a flapper, maybe? My friend got a very cute picture with her.

Cub, was this stitch at DAK? When we took pictures with Stitch there he "hammed up" the camera striking about twelve poses in rapid succession. Very fun.
I think meeting Rapunzel and Flynn Rider at the MK was lots of fun for us. I asked Flynn to show us "the smoulder" and he did. I'll have to post the pic.

Yes, this was at DAK! :) Lilo was there with Stitch as well!
I'm so looking forward to meeting Rapunzel and Flynn. I fell in love with Tangled when I saw the movie (caught the ending on tv this morning. Still cried like a baby.) and it's definitely one of my goals to snag a picture with them this year! :D

Definitely Alice. She spent about 15 minutes joking around with our 2 sets of twins - joked about our 4 "tweedles!" My kids are still talking about it. :ccat:

We are heading to WDW for Thanksgiving. It will be our first time seeing it dressed up for Christmas. I can hardly wait! :mickey:

This actually happened at DLR, but my favorite memory was when my wife and I were holding hands walking near Thunder Mountain when we spot Woody and Jessie. Woody then spots us and gets in between us and holds both of our hands and he walks with us for about 20 yards. We got a good laugh out of it. Wish I had a picture.
