We find Goodings prices to be inflated by 20% or more.

sorry Rich, but I think you might like Publix just as well. It is a really nice clean store with as wide, if not wider selection as Goodings. Lots of gourmet items, too. Give it a try next time, you won't miss Goodings at all.

Where is the closest Publix in regards to WDW?

My BF is flying in from California in a few wks and we have been talking about jetting down to WDW, so I was curious if that attraction at WDW had a BBR?

Thanks!

I can't think of any off hand, but I'm SURE you can find one within minutes just by driving around. They're the dominate grocery store down here. :)

Oh! I think they're might be one at the Crossing (just off I-4, by the mini golf course). In reference, near Downtown Disney. I also think that the resorts have addresses and directions for all the local grocery stores if you ask for them.

Goodings may be more expensive than many other supermarkets, but it is so convienient and still cheaper than buying the equivilent from the parks or hotel shops.
We don't normally get to check in til quite late due to the flights so we head down to Godings then on the first night to stock up. Got to love 24 hour shops!

sarah, there is both a Publix and a WinnDixie nearby. They are at least 20% cheaper than Goodings, and I truly suspect it is more like 30%. Goodings is the Neaman Marcus of the grocery stores. Publix is a much larger store with wonderful gourmet selections. It is clean, tremendous variety, great prices.

The Publix is over by the outlet mall on the other side of I-4. If you go out of hotel boulevard and get to the stoplight at CrossRoads. Take a right at the light, is that 535?, go under I-4, go to the very first stoplight (Sand Lake????) and take a left. That takes you on the service road that runs along I-4 and takes you right to the outlet mall. Just go past the outlet mall and bear on around to the right and then Publix will be on the left. It sounds like a long way, but maybe only 5-7 minutes away from Goodings.

I am all for convenience, but I have not darkened the doors of Goodings since I discovered the new Publix. Christmas of 03 we bought our Christmas dinner from Publix. It was wonderful. We got to WDW quite a bit, usually a minimum of twice a year, so we have lots of opportunity to check out the surrounding stores.

Try it on your next trip. I don't think you will be sorry.

Publix! Yeah, I go there almost everyweek to get groceries because I'm too lazy to wait for the H bus that takes me to Walmart. I'ts on Vineland and International I think. I hate the intersection right by there, the pedestrian sign never works. Lots of people at Chatham go there, and you'll know it because there's shopping carts around the property.

In Epcot at the China counter service you can get a dish of lo mein for around $4.00 its enough for 2, and if you a vegitarian or don't want anything heavy on the stomach go to any place in WDW that has a fixing bar, order a roll for .80 and load up on the veggies.

Japan in Epcot for cheapest eats

Post by aschrade » Mar Sat 18, 2006 9:07 am

When I'm in Epcot, in the world showcase, I stop by that little cafe that's across from the Japanese department store. It's up there past the Koi gardens, up a little hill. Anyway, you can get a bowl of hot, fresh steamed rice for like $1.50. And then you slap some good Kikkoman soysauce on there which they provide. It's nothing fancy, but it's good and hot and it fills you up. It's the cheapest way I know to get full anywhere in Disney
