Mousekedude wrote:Thanks, B-babe. I'm not going to mess with a doctor unless it starts getting worse. I've been in enough kerfuffles in my life to know the difference between serious and minor injuries. At this point the doctor would only take x-rays and tell me nothing's broken (I already knew that...), and then tell me to take anti-inflamatories and get some rest (I already know that too...). So why pay for a doctor visit to be told what I already know?
Anyway, a security guard saw the whole thing happen. I had come around a corner of a landscape island where sprinkler run-off had been sitting for days growing algae... sliperry as snot... and when I stepped in it my feet flew out from under me as if I had stepped on wet ice. He stopped to see if I was okay, and after making sure I wasn't seriously hurt he went inside to report it. I had to gather up my groceries... plus I was now soaking wet and covered with slime on one side... so I didn't want to bother going all the way back inside.
In hindsight, I probably should have so I could get a copy of his written report... just in case... but I was a little stunned and not thinking clearly. Oh well, fortunately I don't think the injuries are serious... except my wounded pride....

M-dude, relax and take something for the pain and inflamation. I would still considering the X-rays, M-dude. Some injuries are not easily seen from the surface. Isn't it better not to take chances? If not for your peace of mind, then for your wife's. I'm sure she's pretty concerned about you there down under...
Get better soon! We want you there in one piece and completely functional in January 2012!

The Chip n' Dale medal must be for the 5K?
Either way, they're all pretty sweet looking!!! (except I'm a little weirded out by Donald's eye...)

The Chip and Dale medal is for the Marathon Relay, two members per team both run half marathon distance the first runs from Epcot to and through MK and the tag member runs from there through AK and DHS to the finish at Epcot.

Nice looking hardware! I like the Goofy one...I agree with you on Donald's eye MmeLeota

But I think it's pretty cool how they incorporated the year and the 1/2 all in one

Certainly there is something for the 5K?!

Well, okay....
On another note, I've mostly recovered from my injuries and resumed "training" this morning. I managed to run a couple miles this morning before work, almost completely pain free!

Now we'll see how I feel tomorrow morning...
If all goes well, I'll try timing the full 5K again Wednesday morning and see how badly the last few weeks of inactivity have affected me....

I'm happy to report that I'm not sore at all today! I fully expected to be, but I feel great! So I'm definitely going for a full 5K run in the morning to see if I can beat my last time!

Well this is good news!
What kind of time are you expecting for your 5K distance?

Well, after his recent bumps and bruises, I think he wants to complete a 5K run regardless of the time first. After that, then he can work on the time...
