Arts & Crafts Conference at the Grand Californian

Post by realcal » Feb Wed 01, 2006 12:43 pm

There is an awesome conference in June for Arts & Crafts enthusiasts (the design period) at the Grand Californian Hotel at the Disneyland Resort. My wife and I went last year and had a blast. The conference includes tours of the Hotel with details about its construction and the influences of many Arts & Crafts geniuses from the past.

What an incredible location for the conference. The Hotel provides special rates for conference attendees. The dates are June 16-18, 2006. The brochure for last year's conference can be found at:

They also have a antiques and art sale that cost just $10 to enter (if you are not a conference attendee). It is worth visiting even if you decide to just go to DL and DCA.

Just thought some of you might need an extra incentive to visit DL/DCA.

I want to go to DL so badly, but just have not been able to work it out. I had vowed I would make it during the 50th, but I am not sure I could. This conference would be right up my ally, too. Thanks for the info.

We are at the Arts and Crafts conference in Asheville, NC this weekend and heard that the Anaheim show/conference at the Grand Californian was cancelled for this year (June '06). We were devastated. We spoke with many of the venders we had met there last year and they confirmed the news. If we hear otherwise, we will post it here. We just booked our flights to Anaheim on Friday for the "non"conference. I guess we now get an unincumbered trip to DL/DCA. Life could be so much worse! :D

Sorry for the sad news. It really was a great conference in a great place!
