I'm guessing that color identification certification is not required by the state of Florida, and god help them if they use non-certified colors.

Interesting to see the future peach catching a few rays outside the barn. I hope to get lost around there next week if at all possible.

More like oh wow how in the world did I just end up here. I don't think this looks like the Magic Kingdom!Amy wrote:Lost as in "Oops, how did I end up backstage?!"Len90 wrote:Interesting to see the future peach catching a few rays outside the barn. Don't joke about it; WDW Security is a bit more sharp than you're giving them credit. Just because it's a joke at the entrance way doesn't mean all of the WDW Security is like that...Len90 wrote:More like oh wow how in the world did I just end up here. Believe it or not, the "security" is very lax around Central Shops (main maintenance area for ride vehicles, animatronics, etc.).

We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

If it's like DLR, they know closed doors are magical and for some reason people assume they are all locked.

That must have changed! Many years ago (long ago) on a family vacation my father turned out of the Contemporary in the wrong direction and when he made his mistake, he pulled into the drive to the monorail shop and before he could complete that turn we had a small team of 3 security vehicles cutting us off like they were SWAT. On a seperate ocassion many years later, when I accidentally locked my keys in my car in the resort lot, the front desk was already alerted by security to the problem by the time I got there, and when I walked back to my car they were already there with someone to pop the lock. Security didn't seem so lack in the past (and both incidents were pre-9/11 too)...MadEye wrote:Believe it or not, the "security" is very lax around Central Shops (main maintenance area for ride vehicles, animatronics, etc.).

A car is a lot less subtle than a person just walking in, security's main concerns are to prevent loss of income to the company, which is why there are more security cams in guest areas rather than in back.
The keys issue isn't that unusual too, since they probably have several people at each park, hotel, etc. that know how to use the slim-jim.
Oh, remember that guy who apparently got onto the old Discovery Island or whatever it was called? He didn't get in trouble until after he put the photos of the abandoned place online and I think they were mulling over a lifetime ban for him.

Oh, this is dangerous information for me to haveMadEye wrote:Believe it or not, the "security" is very lax around Central Shops (main maintenance area for ride vehicles, animatronics, etc.).

That's kind of more how I pictured security in the backstage areas.mindflipper wrote:That must have changed! I think one of the big reasons they don't have the nazi level security of apple or other companies is simply that there are no trade secrets to steal without getting noticed. Since their turnover rate is so high, they have to keep everything important behind layers upon layers of people.

It would be interesting to see a new monorail there and the idea behind it is real nice.

More monorails the better ... I always sayAmy wrote:Sounds like a positive thing for sure ~ hopefully it does come about!

Re: Disney begins work on 12th Monorail?
There's only so many monorails you can have running on the tracks at one time. You would like to have monorails, but sadly, for safety reasons...nope.
Re: Disney begins work on 12th Monorail?
Safety? sure. Being stuck on a Monorail because the Monorail in front of you is stuck because of the Monorail in front of it and so on and so forth? More likely. Don't know about anyone else here but I would not want to stop between TTC and Contemporary, just outside the north side of Contemporary, and by the MK bus area for close to 5 minutes at a time (and that is just getting to the MK. Imagine the ride back...) because of too many Monorails on the system...
