How is The World in May?

Post by cmcd13 » Jan Fri 27, 2006 10:56 am

Hi All,
I'm going to WDW 1st 2 weeks in May this year. This will be my first visit with toddlers in tow (not mine). How are the crowds, weather, hours at that time? Anyone have any advice on doing the parks with toddlers (18 month, 3 & 4 yr olds).

Hey Hey cmcd13,
The good thing about going around that time is it is before most college students get out and spring is over, by a month, and the other little kiddies are still in school. Weather is
avg. low Avg. high Avg. Avg. prcp.
66.9 88.4 77.7 3.10

So it looks like it is not that rainy, but the temps are up there.

May is the best time! I was there last year in May and in 2001 in May (honeymoon). It is my favorite.. The weather is always great, and the crowds are light!

In 2003 we went in July and it was horrible (well as horrible as Disneyworld could be? Which isnt much).. Big Crowds (though with fast pass we didnt wait that long), but the heat was the killer. I thought I was going to die some days (actually one day I honestly felt like I was going to, but thats another story).

I wish! That is one of the dancers in the MNSSHParade. Next Halloween I will be dressed like that though. I already have my purple vest and Shovel, next is the green penguin suit.

April/May and November are my favorite times to go. It's never to hot during those times.

I would have to agree that the beginning of May is one of the better times to go (October is nice too). Usually the begining of may has lower crowds and good temps. Towards the end of May it can really heat up.

I am going to WDW this year the End of April thru the first week of May, and I can't wait!!! :D

Deacon, we are too. Going down for a wedding on 5/2. We could start a Meeting of the Subs...

Great, now I have to plan a trip then too. Not that I'm complaining but man I should get an annual pass now. :D

May has average crowd sizes but it can get a bit hot down there. I'd still recommend it as a good time to go

Great time to go...you get summer heat (but not the intense summer humidity--that is not to say it isn't muggy in May) with moderate crowds. You also get the Flower and Garden Festival--the time of year that Epcot is looking its best!

I did go the end of May one year during a heat wave and it was mad hot. But the beginning should be ok.
