Good question. I had assumed as the marathons were on Jan 5-8, 2012 weekend that maybe some people wouldn't feel like doing a big meal and fireworks after all that running. I had assumed it was the following weekend; however, I think it would be better if we could get Mouskedude or Mouseoholic would clarify...

Go ahead and pencil me plus one (not sure if wife or mom or sister or any other lucky woman, ) in for the Ohana dinner and Poly Beach. If I can't make it to a park at least I can enjoy that dinner with everyone again as it was really a great time. Thank you AGAIN to the Mousekecouple for trying to get us Marauders back together again.

awe..thanks everyone who said to just drive up and back in the same day. I actually have friends that live close and could sleep there, but it's the tickets that would be hard to afford. I could never convince my wife to spend 90 for one day!!! lol

I just read this and it's people like you I'd set aside my freebie tickets for... I'm not joking...

Soarin' Are you really not joking, I am an emotional guy here!!! lol My wife even said she would go hang out with our friends that day since shes is no where near the Disney fanatic I am and everyone else here is!... Mouseoholic it is the Half- Marathon on Saturday, full on Sunday, so as long as none of your 14 are doing the Goofy you should be OK.
That is as long as you haven't trailed them round the park all day as well.

Thanks! The only ones I know that are running the Half-Marathon are the Boilers. I am hoping to have her feedback on this soon. We will see if they will be up to Dinner at 'Ohana and Wishes on the Poly beach. I have never known Boilerbabe to turn down a dole whip! We will see....

I thought Saturday and Sunday would be the best days for a meet-up so that those who live close and do not want to or cannot take off work will be able to make it.

Of course I know for some it is difficult to plan this far in advance but we have to start somewhere. We can adjust later if needed.

Last year for our meet up as a group we spent the day at Magic Kingdom. However, I was hoping if possible that we could park hop or choose a different park. Saturday has a crowd level of 3 with the best parks being MK and EP. AK is to be avoided. However, with a crowd level of 3 I don't think this is a concern. Sunday has a crowd level of 4 with the best parks to visit being EP and AK. HS is to be avoided but do not see this as an issue for touring since a 4 is very light.

Hollywood Studios could be fun. We can ride the new Star Tours ride, take in R&R several times as well as ride ToT together. I have never ridden ToT. You see, I am working my way up through the rollarcoaster chain. Last year I conquered EE. I wanted to ride Splash but on the days we went it was too cold. This year I am going to ride Splash and ToT and totally conquer WDW! But....I digress...... My thought in telling you guys this was to say that I would love to ride ToT for the first time with you guys! But regardless of whether you can be with the group for the day or not, we would still like you to attend the "big main events" (dinner at 'Ohana and Dole Whips on the beach for Wishes).

Any which way we go MK, EP, AK or HS we will have a great time. I look forward to your responses and will post the results.

Ok, I just read over this thread again and I missed the fact that wewantsdaredhead is also running the 1/2 marthon. If they (Double-Boilers & wewantsdaredhead) are not up to joining us for Dole Whips and Wishes, we can also schedule some thing for Sunday morning/afternoon so that those who could not make it on Saturday can get a chance to meet everyone.

Let's see how the survey turns out.

Oooooh sooooooo exciting!!!!! Can't wait for another meet up to see familiar faces and some new ones as well!!! YAHOO! Can we leave tomorrow?!

We have a large group of family and friends going on this trip. We have myself, dad, cousin and his new wife running the 1/2. Our entire group which is 9, will be running the 5K on Fri. We have 2 friends and my cousin doing the full and my cousin, is going Goofy! He runs ultras, so I'm sure he will be o.k. But, we thought we'd have a wheel chair waiting, just in case! We plan to do Dive Quest possibly the Tues. after the full. We have a big group of divers as well.

B-dude and I plan to stay Jan. 4-14, resort TBA. We're working on that today actually. Count us in for a meet up!!!

Good luck to all of those training for any/all of the races!!! The Disney bling is the best race bling I have ever seen!!!!

Survey is now complete!!! My only concern for Sat. night meet up is that I want to be there for race support on Sun. for the full. I'm not saying I need to be at the 6:30am start, but want to be there for the finish for sure!
