I'll be honest, I've rarely done it. It's not a cheap add-on...

It does get more reasonable the longer you are there. I don't remember what the add-on was for the AP but it was worth it to us. I believe we both hopped almost every day, sometimes a few timesmindflipper wrote:I'll be honest, I've rarely done it. It's not a cheap add-on...

They probably love you more. You have to spend more per day on a ticket and are more likely to splurge on a big meal since you are only there a day or two...mindflipper wrote:Guess so, I'm more like a "drive-by tourist" LOL.

I find that that park hopping can really eat up a bunch of valuable park time. In the Florida heat it can also take alot of energy out of you. I'm more of a get there early and soak up every bit that one park has to offer for that entire day.

The more I think about it...and the way our existing ADRs are...we don't need the Park Hopper option. The only day we could possibly hop would be our first one...as MK has EMH until midnight. We could leave Illuminations and head over to MK until it closed. The only downside to this is that it will be our first day/night in WDW and we'll want to be up bright and early to be at MK in the morning for rope drop.
So...I don't really see us hopping at all. I'm pretty sure we can add the hopper option if we feel like it at any point...right?
I will say that making dining reservations will ruin the day. If you're an avid park hopper which my family and I are, you'll be at one park thinking it'll be nice to get over to another park and do whatever it is you want to do over there and then all of a sudden you'll relaize that you can't because you have to go eat. The time it takes to hop buses and such just to get where you gotta go to eat hinders the park hopping/amusement process. All that to say ... in your case the hopper is not beneficial.
Re: Park Hopper or No?
No it's not... when my dad I and I went the one day before I started my CP this year, he insisted on going to MK to ride Space Mountain (I wonder sometimes if he is 51 or 11) and then we planned dinner at Nine Dragons... at Epcot, of course. For the two of us, one day with the park hopper was around $320 with tax figured in.mindflipper wrote:I'll be honest, I've rarely done it. It's not a cheap add-on...

the park hopper is great, it doesn't tie u to one place!! go for it!
Re: Park Hopper or No?
I find that if I have the park hopper it seems that I don't use it. But when I decide not to get the park hopper I would have liked it....I would go for the park hopper...if you wanted to use it, I am sure you would be happy that you had it.

B-dude and I were saying too bad they don't let you choose how many park hopper days you want and non-park hopper days. I know it's all or nothing.

Re: Park Hopper or No?
That would be nice but I can see how that would get confusing. And I could see people claiming they didn't know how it all worked and whining or demanding they be allowed to hop even though they had used the hoppers up all ready. If you are there several days, or even a limited amount of days and you know you want to have the freedom, the hopper add on is worth it.boilerbabe wrote:B-dude and I were saying too bad they don't let you choose how many park hopper days you want and non-park hopper days. I agree, there are reasons why Disney does not allow that. We always do the park hopper, we like having the option of going from park to park if we feel like it. But, it is not a cheap option.Amy wrote:That would be nice but I can see how that would get confusing. Re: Park Hopper or No?
We never, never do park hopper and here's why:
1. Too expensive.
2. Too much time on buses and waiting on buses.
3. We can't take our time and focus on 1 park if we have another to get to later.
Now if we were going for 1 day...yes, I'd do park hopper but as long as we can stay at least 3 or 4 days-we like to focus on 1 park a day.

B-dude and I find we really like the park hopper option when we're staying at the Poly b/c it's easy to access MK and Epcot and also if we're staying at the YC, it's so easy to access Epcot and DHS. The park hopper comes in handy! Just wish it wasn't such an expensive option!
