Well, he did say they walked around and looked at the resort while enjoying their drinks, so maybe they were only in plastic because they were "to go" ?Wizzard419 wrote:Did they really serve cocktails in plastic cups? Shameful

What is this, new orleans? If so then why haven't I see women covered in beads to indicate how difficult/easy it is to make them lift their tops?

Re: Monorail Night (aka the Monorail Crawl)
Yes, we have done the three-resort Monorail crawl. We started at the Polynesian for sushi and glow-tinis, then on to the Grand Floridian for a nice martini, and then up to the Contemporary for dinner and drinks and more sushi at the bar at California Grill...and then back to the Caribbean Beach Resort for drinks at the pool, since the pool bar is open intil 1 AM and the pool is open 24 hours. So, I guess it is a four-resort crawl using monorails AND rental cars.
Good times.
Good times.

This was actually not the first time I have had a 12 year Scotch in a plastic cup...thanks to tailgating before, during, and after college football games.

Was that "before, during, and after" all during the same game?theBIGyowski wrote:Yes...we asked for our drinks to be in the plastic cups so we could walk around and enjoy the resorts.Amy wrote:Well, he did say they walked around and looked at the resort while enjoying their drinks, so maybe they were only in plastic because they were "to go" ?Wizzard419 wrote:Did they really serve cocktails in plastic cups? Step 2
After boarding the Monorail at GF we made our way to the stop at MK. Sadly we just watched as people unloaded to go to the park...and others hopped on...then we headed to the Contemporary. Once we got there and made our way down the escalators we were at our second stop...The Wave.

We checked in and scurried over to the bar. I got a Kentucky Peach and DW got the Pear Martini.

Both drinks were very, very good and worth a try for all of you Mayhem Marauders.
So it was time for dinner...and we decided to split a Beef Tenderloin (I think) that was over potatoes and broccoli rabe. It was amazing...oh and so was the bread there...served with sea salt butter.

After dinner we made our way back upstairs to hop on the Monorail and head to the Poly!

Yes...and it was a win...because I wouldn't want to waste a good Scotch just to drown my sorrows. That's what cheap bourbon is for.mindflipper wrote:Was that "before, during, and after" all during the same game?theBIGyowski wrote:Yes...we asked for our drinks to be in the plastic cups so we could walk around and enjoy the resorts.

As I remember college, it was a keg before, a keg during, and a keg after; and it didn't matter if the team won or lost, it's always beer...theBIGyowski wrote:Yes...and it was a win...because I wouldn't want to waste a good Scotch just to drown my sorrows. Yeah that was me too in college...mindflipper wrote:As I remember college, it was a keg before, a keg during, and a keg after; and it didn't matter if the team won or lost, it's always beer...theBIGyowski wrote:Yes...and it was a win...because I wouldn't want to waste a good Scotch just to drown my sorrows. Nowadays I prefer the brown water...it tastes better and it requires fewer trips to the WC.

I like the entrance to the Wave ~ very pretty!
That was convenient that you both ordered a drink off the same page, that way you only had to snap one photo
Did they charge you extra to split your meal?

Maybe it was the more affordable at the resort...Wizzard419 wrote:12 year old? That's what you serve company you don't like very much!

Yes...we decided to take the picture of the menu because both drinks were indeed on the same page. It was also so we could remember what we drank just in case we ended up forgetting...and to let us know what was in them just in case we wanted to make them ourselves at home.Amy wrote:I like the entrance to the Wave ~ very pretty!

I don't believe we were charged anything extra for splitting the meal. It was convenient though because the beef was already cut in two as a part of the dish...so we didn't have to do any real work to split it up.
Our drinks and food were amazing...the service not so much...but we were satisfied with the important stuff.

I've been hearing that more and more when it comes to food service at Disney. It is disappointing since one of their points of pride has always been great service!theBIGyowski wrote:...Our drinks and food were amazing...the service not so much...but we were satisfied with the important stuff.
