Disneyland has some trees and shade, but DCA doesn't have that much, and there was shade in the sketch, from the buildings.

Also how come the mediteranian counter lacks falafel? I would have expected that to be on the menu.

Now that you mention it, falafel would be a most excellent addition to the Mediterranean menu. I wonder if they were worried not enough people would make a main meal?Wizzard419 wrote:The earliest during the summer is 9 PM (which is shortly after sundown). They might be one of the rides that re-opens after the show for a while, but most of the rides don't.

I will just say that the traffic to leave after the fireworks was absolutely insane. It felt like we were going to the slaughterhouse because we were all cluttered. Thankfully I'm not claustrophobic otherwise I would have panicked but I tend to get impatient too fast especially when I was separated from my mom so I can get out of the park faster (she watched the fireworks, I was on the other side of the park and we agreed to meet at the car). It got heavy right as I made it to Main Street then I maneuvered through the candy store/ice cream parlor/bakery then past City Hall to the exit. It was almost a dead stop right by the baggage claim area and in front of World of Disney. I managed to find a tram that was on its final boarding with NO line and got on it instead of having to walk behind a bunch of people. So it was an insane day regardless of BTMRR and Splash Mountain being amazing walk-ons.Amy wrote:Ms. Swann ~ That is cool that you managed any kind of walk on in DL on the 4th. I would guess most people were kind of glued to watching the fireworks display though...How was the traffic?
Smart thinking planning ahead to meet at the car. Can you imagine trying to find her in that crush of people?!elizabethswann wrote:I will just say that the traffic to leave after the fireworks was absolutely insane. I forget that most people have Mom's that operate their cell phones well. F1gment has some problems in that areaelizabethswann wrote:It would have been crazy if I even stopped to look back at where she could possibly be. When I called her after getting off Splash Mountain that she was going to take the train to Main Street but it wasn't working at the time so she walked through Tomorrowland to the exit.
I agree with Wizz on this one. DCA does not have much in the way of trees/shade, and I don't think Carsland will be too much hotter than the rest of the park despite the lack of trees. Besides, that ginormous rock sculpture will block out a decent amount of the late afternoon sun.Amy wrote:Well, I'll have to ride it at dusk then. The video in that issue of Micechat was pretty late since everything was all lit up. How early is the earliest World of Color show?Wizzard419 wrote:Goofy's flight school will probably shut down at night for world of color since all the paradise pier attractions have to go dark/silent during the show.
Carsland won't be that much hotter than the rest of the park or even disneyland since there may be trees but most of the parks don't have that much shade.
At least Disneyland has some trees and shade. That artist's video rendering showed nothing
That's what I wasn't sure of, since I haven't seen the movie, I didn't know exactly the look they were going for....desert makes sense then.MmeLeota wrote:I actually think trees would take away from the theming of the area. They have put so much into the details...Radiator Springs (the town that will be depicted) is set in the middle of the desert along old Route 66...not many trees there. I'm sure there will be shaded areas throughout, but not many trees.
The new Paradise eating area looks pretty cool and I'm looking forward to trying it out next month!
Picture the Monument Valley area...that's pretty much the setting for Radiator Springs. Somehow, we're gonna have to set you down for a Pixar movie marathon missy...Amy wrote:That's what I wasn't sure of, since I haven't seen the movie, I didn't know exactly the look they were going for....desert makes sense then.MmeLeota wrote:I actually think trees would take away from the theming of the area. The new Paradise eating area does look pretty good. I've read a few reviews on the food and they have been almost all positive so far. It's always nice to have new eating options
Will there be popcorn? I really like popcorn. If you make popcorn I will come! My biggest problem with watching movies is a very short attention span and inability to sit stillMmeLeota wrote:Picture the Monument Valley area...that's pretty much the setting for Radiator Springs. I'm guessing they would not be happy if I scrambled up the side of the rock mountain and stretched out under the teeny-tiny trees for the shade they would provide thoughWizzard419 wrote:If it makes you happy there are tiny trees on top of the ornament valley parts (or whatever name they give it) for cars land. They might not show up in the photos though, you can see them easily from paradise pier.
