Jefferson County...in AlabamaSoarin08 wrote:And that county would be...? we are bankrupt yes...and probably just more mismanaged than corrupt at this point...but we have had past county and city officials sent to prison for being corrupt
I have friends who have relatives who live in other counties in the state and they used to always register their cars in those other counties instead of Jefferson because it saved them money on their tags each year.
It's the taxes really...more than the tag fee...which I do believe is standard throughout the state...but you gotta pay those taxes each time you renew your tag...so you're talking about hundreds of dollars on newer vehicles.

"Fees" can be passed by city councils without voter approval, "taxes" require voter approval - so most local governments tend to be "fee" happy...

It is a fun way to add a little personality to your car. In your case it would be just $2.50/month... You can do a google search for personalized Disney plates ~ surprisingly there are a lot of variations out there!
Hmm.. I was thinking about getting a Figment one, but I might get a more generic Disney one. That would be fine as well. I will definitely take a look. I need to find out when mine expires. I just got the new sticker for the tag,, but I don't think that is the tag itself... not sure... hmm...
Time to do more research I think

Re: License plates and other car embellishments
I would think in most states, the tag and sticker are linked. I know when we changed over to the personalized plates, we had to get new tags since they have the license plate number, or in our case, word, printed on the tags as well. That keeps people from registering their DeLorean as a Kia and saving thousands of dollars!figmentaholic wrote:Hmm.. Though the ones in Bell (a city in Cali where they did epicly awesome corruption) were smart about it and just relied on voter apathy to get their way so not only will no one get the money back but the people have to pay for a recall election on top of it.mindflipper wrote:...or get appointed or elected to a government spot and take advantage of the corruption until the FBI nails them in Federal Court...(not naming names)...Wizzard419 wrote:and most citizens have been/still are asleep at the wheel and allow the corruption to grow.

Re: License plates and other car embellishments
I decided today if I ever win a mini Cooper (since I probably wouldn't buy one - too impractical in our snow drifts) I would get a license plate that said MOUSE Then I would have a mini-mouse!

I thought about you two when I saw the 5K sticker, but from what I can see....it only comes in pink. I did not think you could put a pink sticker on your mean lookin truck, but then again, you can pull that off! Real men wear pink!Mousekedude wrote:Ooooooo..... nice!
