Well, of course I would offer to do it myself, but since y'all live in the same state that might be less expensive what with postage rates being so high ;)

You could pop down to Orlando, meet her there, do the work quickly, get some time in at the park, and then fly back... :mickey:

OK, so I looked at the cork board last night, and it is all glued together. I bought them as a one piece thing all framed up, so unless I take it all apart (and probably ruin it) it's going to have to stay as a cork background. Does it look ok like that?

Now I am having trouble finding the right Disney wallpaper border. Everything at the stores here is little kid stuff like the princesses and Cars. But I want a grown up Mickey theme. So, my search continues to complete "the Disney room"!

It looks spectacular with all those pins. I just suggested the idea because the one I had bought for my father was different - it worked like a frame, where you could remove the cork back from the frame and then put it back. The one I got was smaller, but I never saw one as large as yours back then. Where did you get that large frame version?

It could still be done but it would be a lot harder the fabric could be turned and tucked for a neat finish.
I found this site with wallpaper borders any good?

I bought them at Office Depot for $19.99! Do you believe it? I had been looking for a month everywhere and just happened upon them when I was shopping for ink! Ha, pretty cool right?

It still looks nice without fabric, but you could probably still manage to put some on if you wanted, you would just have to trim it exactly to fit...
I wonder if you could find some nicer wallpaper borders when you go to WDW?

Wow, awesome idea Amy! I won't buy anything till I get home from my trip, there is a home decor shop at Downtown Disney I think, or maybe even at the big Disney store or Main Street! They just might have something cool!!!! Yay, more shopping ideas!!!!!!!

I definitely think we need to see some pics of your "Disney Room" once you get it finished! :mickey:

OK, my Disney room is just about complete. And here are some updates with pictures:
Here is the room after the "Disney royal blue" was painted on the walls
Image
As you can see at the top of the wall, remnants of a baseball wallpaper border. This will get covered up when we get back from WDW hopefully with some Mickey wallpaper border!

Here is the cabinet my husband just built for my Disney pvc action figures!
Image

Here is my shadowbox with my oldest WDW memorabilia. I have the original Walt Disney World commemorative book (black in the corner), a 1972 WDW "newspaper" from the Contemporary Hotel, an original Contemporary Hotel paper bag that the commemorative book came in when we bought it, (I save everything!) an old ticket book from Disneyland from the 70's with still unused tickets. And my original 1960's Viewmaster with Disneyland Viewmaster reels!

Image

This is a restaurant menu from 1972 from our trip that I saved, notice the prices!!

Image

Here is my Love Bug original 1967 full size theatre poster that I bought in Disneyland at the One of A Kind Shop in 1974.

Image

And my Computer Wore Tennis Shoes original theatre poster that I bought in the 70's at the One of A Kind Shop in Disneyland.

Here is one part of the room completed:

And another angle:

And finally a bookcase filled with Disney beanie babies, Disney DVD's and other various toys and memorabilia!

Image

If you are wondering about why I have two beds in there, this is otherwise known in the family as the bed and breakfast room. All of my family, (sisters, brother, mom and dad, aunts, uncles, cousins, old friends etc etc etc) all live in the mid-Atlantic, the South or the North East. So, I have a literally non-stop bunch of visitors from about November through May down to Miami for short and long visits. I've had up to 14 people in my house at once. Sheeeeesh! Because of that I have my guest room with extra beds!!

So, I guess this is all I have done for now. I really didn't realize how much Disney stuff I actually have! It will be so fun to finish the room and of course, shop for more!! Tee-hee!
