What expansions would you love to see at all the parks?
Piggy-backing on the threads out there already on the various parks and what expansions you would like to see (with a thread on Animal Kingdom being the most recent), I thought it would be fun to get everyone's ideas on what they would love to see the next expansion be at EACH PARK if there were to ever be an expansion.
For instance, obviously MK is getting a new Fantasyland expansion, but let's pretend that is old news already and it is possibly time for a new expansion of the park. What "themed land" would you like to see added? Do that for all the parks! I know there is not much free space at most of the parks, but if you want, use your imagination!

DHS has been losing its studio feel and the Hollywood theme. How about some rides at DHS that give you the feel of today's Hollywood? Here's two ideas for rides:
CELEBRITY REHAB - An interactive game where the audience decides which Hollywood has-been has the best chance of drying out...
PAPARAZZI - It's Buzz Lightyear re-themed. Instead of the gun, its a camera. You point and shoot at pictures of celebrities, and the points you rack up is the money you get for taking a great shot of a celebrity. The points will vary depending upon the popularity of the celebrity. Any celebrities from CELEBRITY REHAB will actually earn penalties unless you get a photo of them hurling in public or having a car accident...

Can there be a dead pool element too?
For DCA the early proposal for Superstar Limo was a paparazzi themed ride (at higher speed).

I honestly think DHS has really lost the studio feel a lot and there is no way to really bring that back. Once the real live studio pretty much stopped, the theme of the park changed. I honestly would definitely like to see an expansion of Pixar Place. I really feel right now that calling it Pixar Place is inaccurate since the area is all about Toy Story and nothing more. Disney needs to add another attraction with some of the space they have available in that area. I would love to see Cars get an attraction in WDW.
EPCOT: World Showcase needs to grow as we are coming up on the 13th anniversary of when Norway first opened at EPCOT back in 1988. There have been rumors, but I would love to see something come. There is plenty of space to build a pavilion as you can make use of the Odyssey area or Millennium. As for Future World, that's a whole different issue. That doesn't need an expansion but rather a major overhaul.
MK: I really would like to wait until the Fantasyland Expansion is complete before I decide what I would do with the park next.
AK: The hype on EE is/will be dying out so I really would like to put another huge E ticket attraction in there somewhere. I just haven't figured out what I would do yet.

Epcot: Expand World Showcase
Hollywood Studios: Expand Pixar Place and LucasArta area (More Star Wars and Indiana Jones)
Animal Kingdom: Add South America and Australia area.

That's not entirely true, with Odyssey they would probably only have the exact footprint of the building to work with since (going off of one of Martin's tributes) that lake is a sinkhole and they can't build further in. I think the village is being used for storage right now, but that would probably have poor visibility.Len90 wrote:

World Showcase is pretty much maxed on space, if you look at it from above it's right up against a river and major road. That and no country in their right mind would waste money on building a dated pavillion now that they can have web pages that are up-to-date and cheaper.

HS:I would like to see the Indiana Jones ride at DisneyParis come to HS in the same area with the show.
MK: Needs a new mega ride for adults.
EP: Just needs to go back to it's futuristic roots in the front and add Brazil for World Showcase.
AK: Another big ride or fix Dinosaur to the orginal plans, as I understand it.

Actually, AK needs a whole new area with at least 2 rides to it - rides, not show! And more animals as well. Maybe they could add an area of the different bears of the world? Thay way, they could sell all of those Duffys they keep trying to push all the time...

Millenium would work. Yes it is set back a bit but if you think about it it's not that much more than say WOL was. You didn't see that until you were walking right up to it.Wizzard419 wrote:That's not entirely true, with Odyssey they would probably only have the exact footprint of the building to work with since (going off of one of Martin's tributes) that lake is a sinkhole and they can't build further in. Actually, it was originally planned that the countries would be next to each other with no gaps in between. Those gaps are roughly the same size as the countries themselves. They could add more countries - if they could find one willing to pay for sponsorship...

I think futureworld at EPCOT needs to be more futuristic. In 1982 It was 2011 needs more.

Re: What expansions would you love to see at all the parks?
Future World at EPCOT would have to a major project like the current Fantasyland Expansion project: ordered from the top and bypassing the local TDO management overseeing WDW. It would also have to be massive in scope, and therefore cost an obscene amount of money.

Which probably contributed to the demise, as well as being dated due to lack of sponsors.Len90 wrote:Millenium would work. The same way they do at Disneyland and DCA, they don't.jacobcary1 wrote:True and how do you close down the front of the whole park? lol
