i hear what your saying i have done trips with a car and without, actually for me the best is when you stay at a hotel where you can take the monorail to the main 2 parks, it saves a lot of bus and waiting time and then if you only do the buses a few days its not as bad

Keep in mind that you don't have to take a bus to MGM from Epcot. You can easily take the Friendship Boats that go to Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach Clubs, Swan and Dolphin and MGM (I know it is called Hollywood Studios... I hate that name). I do that whenever I can. I like stopping or even walking to Boardwalk and getting a slice of pizza there and maybe a stop at Beach Club and getting a hot dog or and ice cream at Beaches and Cream. Whatever you do, it is a very relaxing ride compared to the buses.
We are all a little weird
And life's a little weird,
And when we find someone whose
Weirdness is compatible with ours,
We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

Is there some sort of transportation map that shows the different ways you can get around to the various parks?

Amy I am not aware of any transportation map, however I was told if you go to a hub you can go anywhere from there. That is the Ticket and Transportation centre and Epcot, we usually use Epcot it is the easiest one to use.

I tend to stay at the Swan and I have used those boats many times over the years.

I'm a huge fan of the busses! It seems like when I hope on that bus for the first time and head to a park its then real ... We're there and fun is to be had!

But do you find them as exciting as any of the attractions?

It seems they have always been very helpful more so than the monorail. I do love the monorail though.

Funny thing is the best public transportation in Central Florida are the Disney buses. The Lynx bus system is dismally awful and irritating.

Really and here I thought with all those newer buses it would be an okay system. However, Disney Transport is a private resort transportation system. There buses are expected to be clean and presentable while Lynx is a public transportation system.

When you move down to Orlando to take care of the Disney bus network (you know it's only a matter of time!), please add a route from Celebration to the Ticket and Transportation Center. I'd love to retire there some day, but I haven't seen any direct transportation to Disney from there. Make sure it's a Disney bus, and not a Lynx bus!

Another great thing about the buses is that they usually have freezing cold air like the monorail. It fogs up the windows.

I discovered when I stayed at the Swan back in Dec 2010 there's a great advantage to it over the Yacht Club and the Boardwalk: the Swan is the first resort on that loop for the buses. So - no problem in getting seats! By the time we got around to the Boardwalk - standing room only.
