Jeremy Irons is my favorite SSE narrator, but I really wish they'd gotten William Shatner to narrate the newest version, instead of Judi Dench. How awesome would that be?

I would rather have Leonard Nimoy instead.

I heard a rumor one time, they were going for Patrick Stewart, but his fee was too high. I don't know if it was true or not, but I think he would have been good.

Understatement of the day.
My Monday was good ~ other than being hotter than Hades
I understand what you are saying jacobcary1, I had a harder time choosing between the men as well. I would never vote for the Dame Dench version not because of her voice, but only because the content feels like it is aimed at pre-schoolers

It's more re-designed to connect with those techies who are internet-obsessed. "first worldwide web", "first back-up system"...

And just for the record, my teenage son does not like Justin Bieber. He's more of a classic rock fan.
Out of curiousity, how often does he use the word "like" in any one sentence? I'm hoping he's just isolated case in today's youth...
My son doesn't use like that often in a sentence. When he's nervous he might say it a few times as well as 'Um' but he gets his lack of public speaking skills from me.

I'm glad then to find out it's just Justin Beiber. I wonder why no one thought to hire him a speeching coach or enroll him in a public speaking class?

I wouldn't say it's just him, I teach college students and I hear "like" in almost every sentence with some of these stdents

The word "like" is pretty pervasive in the high school where I occasionally teach as well. And I am pretty sure if I was able to ban my friend's teenage daughter from using the word "like" she would be rendered speechless...hey! That's an idea
I don't mind that as much as "My bad" or "whatever" though. Those phrases irritate me

Yea I can see those being annoying too. I've always believed though, speech is a living thing, that changes constantly. Every year I hear from my students some word or phrase I've never heard of... And I'm not that old!

Personally, I could go for Ian McKellan being the narrator.
