Don't judge a book by its cover, Len90...

groan!

But also sadly true.
I am still excited about the Little Mermaid attraction. While it is a little disappointing seeing the attraction in pictures and online, I know it will look different in person. I have to agree with Len though, the outside of the building is so amazing, that you just kind of expect an E ticket ride inside. But if you judge it against the other dark rides, it is actually pretty impressive.

Did she say anything in response?
Yes, she asked for elaboration so I told her it was a half completed ride, and pretty box, bad inteiror, too much hype for the hair, ursula's arm is torn, etc.
Also, I should have added that the mural inside isn't that great either, it actually feels cheap and hokey compared to other attractions.

I must be the only one that liked the mural. I thought it was real nice. I mean, the ride is great if you're looking for a nice dark ride but some parts were a little cheesy.

I think the reason I didn't like the mural was that it was lazy and doesn't really add to anything, especially since the tech has improved so much since the 50's.

Any way someone can post pics of the mural so the rest of us can get a look at it?

I dunno - from the pics, the mural looks okay to me. Maybe it's something you have to see in person to get a better idea...

That's kind of what I was thinking. The top photo is the mural inside the attraction, the bottom photo was the artist's rendering, so I would say it is true to what the artist was going for.

Maybe it's the lighting effect? I have to admit that does look bad in the first photo...

The actual content of the mural isn't really the problem, it's that they did a mural in the first place. They could have done something with more life to it, or even more thematic. But a static picture with lights projected on the characters (and a sunburst effect on the main one) just feels like no one was trying.

Maybe they didn't have the room to do anything different other than the mural...

But a projection, LCD displays, etc. all would not expand into the ride areas. Some projectors only need a 3 foot cast for a huge image.
Hell, even painting something more creative that went with the theme would have been better.

My head still hurts from the traveling today...
So no coverage of the perfume shop?
But good god, those were some long lines (looking at the numbers from the page) for star tours. I don't think I waited that long for rocket rods.
