Haha, I remember I went over to my neighbor's house and got onto their Compuserve first, and then when I got to college I used the BBS system to connect.
Does anyone around here remember BBS's? Or am I just that old? *gets out a cane*

No!! My dog ate the string, so I had to upgrade to a rope and coffee can system!!Amy wrote:I know how you pride yourself on keeping things running ~ are you still using that string and cans set-upJacca5660 wrote:I must be ahead of the curve. Hehe yeah, this would have been about 1993 or 1994 I would guess when I started college. No one wanted to call me anyways so I didn't care about using my phone line. I thought I was hot stuff when while I was there I got a 9600 baud modem. it was the fastest at the time. My dad was replacing his and gave it to me, or else I wouldn't have been able to afford it, haha! I think he was getting a 14.4...
Ah, those were the days... Windows 3.1, then OH WOW Windows 95. *happysighs* my inner geek is happy reminiscing.

I was going through middle school while you folks were in college...so I got to see all of this from that perspective. I remember moving from command line based computers to the Apple computers to the simple Windows machines.

Re: Were You A Disney Park Fan Before The Internet?
I miss the day I got my 20 MEG hard drive and wonder how in the world was I going to use "ALL" of that space. I'm saying that machine was FAST it was 100 meg machine!! Yea I had the 28 baud modem (Insert Tim Allen bark!!) and I could do things with that machine that I had never even heard of before!! I still sometimes miss my old VIC 64! It was all so much simpler then, you could go on the "INTERNET" (it was a new term) with out any kind of antiviral program or anything.Amy wrote:I'm thinking you might be the only one missing those slower processing daysfigmentaholic wrote:Hehe yeah, this would have been about 1993 or 1994 I would guess when I started college.
