They aren't in the lagoon, they are actually in the... I guess "river" that leads to the resorts next to Epcot and DHS (you wouldn't even see them unless you were staying there). For a nominal fee (can't find current numbers but there is an odd price of $346.13 that is noted on various sites) you get the boat parked under the bridge between France and the UK and it's a great view. If you wish to add a meal service it costs more, and they do the same thing for wishes.

Still sounds like neat idea, but I would love to know the actual price...Wizzard419 wrote:They aren't in the lagoon, they are actually in the... Here's a link that provides the costs of the various cruises. It surprises me that they charge an additional $53 and change to have audio piped in on the boat. I wonder how bad the sound is if you don't spring for the extra?! (Yeah, it says you can have 2 extra people too, so it must be a bigger boat, but stillmindflipper wrote:Still sounds like neat idea, but I would love to know the actual price...Wizzard419 wrote:They aren't in the lagoon, they are actually in the... If it weren't that the food would not be in the ideal state, I would totally get the boat and have a meal service from either yachtsman or whatever the 2nd floor place is in the french pavillion served.

Hmmmmmm, I wonder if those coming for a Mayhem Marauder meet-up would splurge and split the costs? I know Mousekedude loves boats...Amy wrote:Here's a link that provides the costs of the various cruises. Re: Monorail Night (aka the Monorail Crawl)
I think we are all missing out on one huge point here. Disney will never try to do something like the liquor monorail as it is not family friendly. This point was stressed during the closing of Pleasure Island and the reimagining of it into a more family friendly place. I know there were plenty of other reasons, but this seemed to be the one disney made sure to stress.
As for the party boats, isn't one always stored at the boat rental place at the yacht club? Unless I am thinking about one of the other exquisite boat rental things Disney has.

I had thought about it for this past trip, but the Mousekecouple and the double boilers were already planning their fishing excursion so I didn't figure they would be interested. It would end up being around $40 or so a person, unless people wanted food. The only drawback is you are at the mercy of the weather. Someone (yodiwan1?) mentioned having been one of the nighttime fireworks cruises and said they ended up not being able to see much because of the fog that rolled inmindflipper wrote:Hmmmmmm, I wonder if those coming for a Mayhem Marauder meet-up would splurge and split the costs? Yeah, we are just imagining, I think we all know none of this would be feasible. I don't even drink more than one or two drinks a yearLen90 wrote:I think we are all missing out on one huge point here. I wonder if you are thinking of this one....
...or this one“BREATHLESS” CRUISE (currently out of service)– a 1930 mahogany reproduction Chris Craft run-about boat. Six guest maximum, available at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
VIP CRUISE ON GRAND I YACHT – a 45-foot Sea Ray yacht staffed by a captain and deckhand, 17/18 guest maximum, available at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Re: Monorail Night (aka the Monorail Crawl)
OK...DW and I are going to give this a shot...
We have ADRs for 7:15 PM at The Wave so...
5:30 PM - GF - get a drink somewhere there (where should we go?)
6:30 PM - Leave GF via Monorail
6:45 PM - Cont - get a drink and wait for our table at The Wave
7:15 PM - Cont - Dinner at The Wave
8:30 PM - Leave Contemporary via Monorail
8:45 PM - Poly - get Dole Whip
9:45 PM - Poly - get a drink and head to the beach
10:00 PM - Poly - enjoy Wishes from the Poly beach
How does that sound? I'm sure it's been done before. If we have the time we may try to sneak the Wilderness Lodge in there in the late afternoon. Neither one of us have ever been there and we want to check it out as well.

Ok... first one back with pictures from the crawl adventure, we start a "Monorail Dinner Crawl Club"!! Kinda like the "mile-high" club, but not as creepy (and cramped). We'll be the new Adventurers Club, Kungaloosh!theBIGyowski wrote:DW and I are staying at BLT our last two nights...(6/16 and 6/17) so perhaps we can give this a shot.
Hmm...just saw that the California Grill has an open ADR...
1) Cocktail at GF
2) Drinks and sushi at Contemporary
3) Drinks and Dole Whip (or spiked Dole Whip!) at Poly...while watching Wishes from the beach
I may have to do this...

Relax, Len90, as Amy pointed out, this was the product of our over-active imaginations. But then again, as the song in Horizons once said, "If you can dream it, if you can dream it - yes we can!" I'm sure we could come up with 101 other ridiculous monorail ideas if we put our minds to it.Len90 wrote:I think we are all missing out on one huge point here. Sounds fantastic!!! As to where to go in the GF for a drink, Mizners Lounge is on the second floor and you can grab a drink and sit overlooking the downstairs lobby area. It's pretty up there and it's usually quiet and civilized... a nice way to start your adventure!theBIGyowski wrote:OK...DW and I are going to give this a shot...

If you've never been to the Wilderness Lodge, you MUST go and check it out! It's my favorite Resort by far at WDW. So beautiful and tranquil. The shop is fun inside to the right, and the pool area is amazing!

Ok...we will go to Mizners Lounge at GF. We went to GF during our Honeymoon to just walk around it and enjoy the atmosphere and we were blown away...so we are excited about doing the Monorail Night this time around to enjoy a drink there. We loved the little band in there...so this should be a lot of fun.cousininmiami wrote:Sounds fantastic!!! We almost stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for our Honeymoon this past August but decided on POR instead to save a little more money. We'll make it a point to see WL this time around though. We'll be there for 9 days so we should be able to see a good bit more than we ever have before.

I've been to the Wilderness Lodge once before as well and it is beautiful inside. They've got a place in there that kind of reminds me of Ohana's at the Poly (family dining, but not polynesian style).

Sounds like you have it well-planned out BIG. I like your idea cousininmiami ~ perhaps you should choose a different toast though so people aren't so sad that the Adventurer's Club is allllll gone
