Drinking Around the World
Since reaching adulthood, one of my favorite things to do in EPCOT when I am with friends is to have one drink at each country in the World Showcase. I was thinking a fun topic would be for everyone to post their drinking schedule/agenda when drinking around the world. For the purposes of this Topic we can make this alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic...just so everyone can particpate. As a result of this thread we will have The Ultimate Guide to Drinking Around the World at EPCOT.

You'll have to check with cousininmiami ~ I think she and her husband have done this one more than one occasionFrankieC79 wrote:Since reaching adulthood, one of my favorite things to do in EPCOT when I am with friends is to have one drink at each country in the World Showcase. We do a combination of eating and drinking around the world. We buy one small snack and taste our way around the world as well as drinking, and we share drinks sometimes too. It is better to share eating and drinking for several reasons, one is the cost because it can get quite expensive, the next is calories (LOL) and the final drinking one, it's best to share a little otherwise, too drunk to make it to the final countries!

also, back in college I drank around the world, but we cheated. We filled Zephyerhills bottle with bacardi limon and just added them to the free drinks at cool station. We brought empty bottles for those...hey in college you're on a budget! lol

Re: Drinking Around the World
The last time I did this was during the food and wine festival. So, quite a few additional stops were added. The Singapore stand was selling these drinks called Singapore Slings. They threw a wrench into my ability to finish. An unforseen obstacle...STRONG!! We ended the night at the Tequila Cave at Mexico, which was my first time in there, and now a close second to the Rose and Crown as my favorite watering hole on the World Showcase. The Tequila Cave was out of control!! The problem is...we started in France...never made it to the Rose and Crown

Re: Drinking Around the World
My girlfriend and I did this but it totally wasn't worth it. Hate to be a buzzkill, but even splitting some of the drinks the bill ended up being like $100+ I think. And neither of us was even really feeling it. Okay maybe a little by the time we finished Molsons or whatever it was at Canada starting from Mexico, but yea not worth it. The worst was wine in Italy, it was like $7.50 for what I believe was quite possibly a 2 oz pour and we aren't talking about a Port or anything. It wasn't even good. Blech. Next time I want to drink at Epcot I'll stick to the inside of the Biergarten with the really good 1 litler pours of very nice, dark beer. A little expensive, yes (I think it was 11 or 12?), but for a liter or good quality beer, esp. in a theme park, I can't complain. Esp. when they're serving 12 oz cups of bud lite for $5.50 or something...

This sounds more like what I would do. Although I have been known to enjoy a few margaritas outside Mexico waiting on the evening show.Mr.ToadWildRider wrote:My girlfriend and I did this but it totally wasn't worth it. I think drinking your way around Mexico would be the most fun.

I joked with my best friend that we should do this when we go on our trip.

Noted! When you've been out of college for a few years and the hours on the job are lean, but you really need to make a second trip to make the AP you bought worthwhile, you are also on a budget!yodiwan1 wrote:also, back in college I drank around the world, but we cheated. I think I might brave the Biergarten this next time around. People on here have said that the sauerkraut smell inside isn't as bad as the outside...jacobcary1 wrote:This sounds more like what I would do. With all this drinking around the World Showcase, should Disney put a barf bag station at the American Adventure?

Thats funny Mind. I have to say if your not on a budget then it doesn't make a difference one way or another. The only reason we all end up here is because the love of something great. My best trip to WDW ever was years ago when I lived in FL. I took almost a month vacation and camped at the Campground. There was everything in the world available and I had a season pass that would allow me to park hop. I was in between jobs and kind of waiting for another offer. So unlike most people I go to WDW unemployed with all the money I had saved. Now that I have children and work for quite a bit less money, I hope for the day when my children will be able to experience what I had as a child. But as a parent and on the budget we have now. I don,t know when the next trip will be. But I do know that I will work extra or whatever I have to do for my children to experience what I did as a child.
