What is your favorite retired ride?

With the advances in technology and AA's...I would love to see what the Imagineers could do with Dreamfinder. I bet they could bring him back and make it awesome!

I miss all previous attractions or previous versions of all of Furture World at Epcot. It's the one place at Disney that I don't think has improved with time. I don't like any change better than what was there before. An Epcot visit to me now is very heavy on World Showcase, Future World leaves me cold.

I have to agree. It seems like even with all that is there and available, there is still something missing.

I really don't know why imagination pavillion has been left so long in its unspectacular state. I know even though Horizons and World of Motion were more endearing and perfered by many there is no question that Mission Space and Test Track are bigger draws. It's true that both the Cronkite and J. Irons naration of Spaceship Earth were superior to the updated version however the ride is still great and the average guest probally doesn't notice much. Imagination though is a ghost town. Those that have ridden the origonal version remember how grand, long, and detailed it was. They hacked this attraction up many times and now I just don't see the point. The whole pavillion including Honey I Shrunk... is just dated and sad. Disney has never really brought back a classic attraction so I wonder what they will ever do to revamp and bring back life to this once lively attraction. I don't think we'll see a next gen Dreamfinder.

I have no doubt if they could figure out what kind of thrill ride they could into the Imagination pavilion, they would. It's just a matter of the "right fit" and budgeting the money to do it. However, I think it will have to be corporate Disney management that will have to do it and not the local park management, much like they did with the current Fantasyland expansion project.

My default answer to this question is Horizons. However, I understand why Horizons is not around anymore: it reflected a 30-year-old idea of what the future would be and it would not play well today.

Journey Into Imagination, on the other hand, never should have closed. It was a classic, like Pirates or the Haunted Mansion. It was only closed because Kodak's sponsorship was ending, and Fuji wanted to take over the sponsorship and put a thrill ride in there. Kodak countered with an offer to rehab the pavilion to make it cheaper to operate-music to the Eisner-Pressler regime's ears-and that's how we got stuck with what we have now. I miss a lot of the old Future World attractions, but at least they were replaced out of an honest desire to give people what they want. The gutting of Imagination (and the closing of Wonders of Life) was just done so there'd be more money available for some executive's bonus. As a customer, that makes me angry.

Thank goodness for Subsonic Radio...where we can enjoy Journey Into Imagination as it was at its best.

Personally, I don't see EPCOT getting fixed unless the corporate Disney management overrides the local TDO managing the WDW parks (like they did with the Fantasyland Expansion). Besides WoL and JIYI, I think Communicore/Innoventions is desperately in need of some work.

I've probably stated this before but my most favorite ride of all time in WDW is Alien Encounter. It's the only ride I ever been on that had me screaming in genuine terror. I know it was just a ride but I think the attraction was done so well that I'd forget it wasn't real...at least for a little time.

Wonders of Life Pavilion was also one of my favorites. I loved everything about it; from the exercise bikes with monitors to the flying Metlife blimp floating around. I was so motivated to be healthy there and I think that message would be very relevant today with all the hoopla about obesity in the U.S.

+1 for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. I love that song, and it always got stuck in my head. I sooo wish i had a copy of that song ( other than off my DVD).

Agreed on the music of EPCOT. I really miss Tomorrow's Child on the descent in Spaceship Earth
