Sure I can... wait a second. Don't they already get a room key since the ticket and room key are the same if you're staying at the resort?

Thanks, cousininmiami, for having a great sense of humor as it was hard to pass up the opportunity for some light-hearted humor. As your 15 year old son will in LA for 7 weeks, there's no chance they'll take the kids to Disneyland for a day, is there?cousininmiami wrote:You are all hilarious! It was nice to have a good laugh reading this while at the office (should be working geeeze)! So, here's the no-kid-with-us story! My children... my 30 year old daughter, staying home to take care of the Shih Tzu's, my 27 year old son, married now and doing his own thing, my 25 year old son is in the Air Force and stationed in North Dakota, and my 15 year old son will be at baseball showcase camps in Los Angeles for 7 weeks! So that leaves us for a quiet summer.... so what do we do???? We're going to Disney World!!! Woo-Hoo!!!

Everything is on one card if you are a guest in a WDW resort. Your key to the world works for park admission, resort room entry, and (if enabled) charging.Wizzard419 wrote:Sure I can... wait a second. We almost always hop parks. Most of the time we will go to one park and switch over to the park we have our dinner reservation at. The other thing we do is hop over to the park with Extra Magic Hours. I honestly think the park hopper is a great thing.

He probably will get to Disneyland and Calif Adventure once while he's out there. It's basically a baseball trip for him though, a week at UCLA, a week at USC, a week in San Diego, and a trip to Wyoming from there. He's gonna be busy, and I will be missing him bunches! So to all of you that your kids are still small, enjoy it while you can, time seems to be moving in hyper-drive these days. Meanwhile, I am planning my trip and will be in my favorite place in the world in 57 short days from today!mindflipper wrote: Thanks, cousininmiami, for having a great sense of humor as it was hard to pass up the opportunity for some light-hearted humor. I know this is straying off topic, but has your son been to DL before? What a great chance for him if he hasn't! And still awesome even if he has...cousininmiami wrote:He probably will get to Disneyland and Calif Adventure once while he's out there. Wow, he's covering a lot of Caifornia there during that baseball camp! Hope he get's a chance to visit DLR, and maybe a beach trip wouldn't be bad either...cousininmiami wrote:He probably will get to Disneyland and Calif Adventure once while he's out there. Also if he gets the chance, Mann's Chineese Theatre and the Hollywood Walk of Fame are always nice to see, if he has sightseeing and walk around time.

Re: Park Hopping?
We NEVER Park Hop
1. It wears us out.
2. We have to rush through the parks to get to the others.
3. Too many bus rides.
But if I was there for only 1 or 2 days, I would have to park hop.

Re: Park Hopping?
it is really easy to park hop when it is just one or two people, but when you have a group of 4-6 like we usually do on our trips then it is a lot more complicated, especially because one person in our group has mobility issues.

Re: Park Hopping?
That did affect us this past trip as F1gment had to use a ECV this time around. It wasn't a problem to wait for a bus that had room for us, but the bus drivers varied on how much they were willing to help load. When the bus driver was patient, it was fine, but Mom got flustered if the driver was being impatient which did happen a few times.figmentaholic wrote:it is really easy to park hop when it is just one or two people, but when you have a group of 4-6 like we usually do on our trips then it is a lot more complicated, especially because one person in our group has mobility issues.

Is the choice between "park hopper" and "waterparks and more" a newer option? I'm trying to recall if it was an option last time I went. Either way next time I go I am probably going to skip the waterparks option and more since I didn't use them at all, and I didn't bring my clubs or go to disney quest.

Yeah, our friend has had a lot of mobility and health issue and had for years due to diabetes. So we have gotten used to having to go slower because of his issue, we have to do a bit more planning that we would normally. It isn't ideal, but he is the reason we go to Disney every year, so it isn't so bad. He is a good guy like a brother to my hubby and I, so I don't mind at all.
We have learned to be patient (which is hard for me) and sometimes we had to wait for a second bus. It wasn't fun but we got through it. And for sure, some drivers were better than others.

Re: Park Hopping?
I'm not sure when they added the water parks and more option. I know the last time we went, about 10 years ago, I believe the water parks were included with a "premium" AP. We have never gone to any of the water parks because they are always closed for renovation when we are there, or it is way too cold to even contemplate swimmingWizzard419 wrote:Is the choice between "park hopper" and "waterparks and more" a newer option? Patience is not my strong suit either and I certainly learned to have more on this past trip. Sometimes I was more gracious about it than other timesfigmentaholic wrote:...We have learned to be patient (which is hard for me) and sometimes we had to wait for a second bus. Re: Park Hopping?
I see park hopping and use it as an insurance policy. I don't think it's worth the price increase but have gotten it more often than not just for one purpose. I have gone to both MK and Epcot a number of times spent less than two hours in those proseective parks in the crush and decided, "forget this", and left and went to a less crowed park for the remainder of the day and saved myself a great disappointment. Otherwise I like spending the whole day in one park enjoying seeing the day play out over a long period with the passing of the sun and the changes in mood from opening to close.
